MulliganMints side of the story

Just received this via email from SBSS:

The untold Silver Bullet Silver Shield Story.

In September 2012, Rob Gray of the American Open Currency Standard and Chris Duane of youtube noteworthiness teamed up to launch the Silver Bullet Silver Shield line of silver & copper medallions. Within days, it made headlines across the silver stacking community.

But less than a year after inception, it all fell apart.

One man tried [and continues to try] his very best to destroy the other man, and all he has worked to create in the last five years. The other man stayed quiet. Until today.

If you care to know what transpired over the last year that was the Silver Bullet Silver Shield adventure, check out the video below.

The original SBSS is closed, and the team that helped launch it has moved on to create new and exciting products for new and exciting markets, specifically tenth ounce silver paraDIMES to be used as community and tribal currencies, true to the original AOCS mission. It feels great to be back on track.

If you want to continue supporting Chris Duane and his silver coin adventures, you can do so here.

If you'd like to support the Mulligan Mint and pickup a few rolls of tenth ounce silver paraDIMES, you can do so here.

And with that, we say goodbye to the many Silver Bullet & Silver Shield customers. We promise not to call, write or email any more. If anyone sends a message to you, it wasn't us. Keep an eye out for the trolls that have stolen your email address and spam you.

See you in the marketplace,

SBSS Service

Hearing their side of the story about what went on. I still dont know if I would trust them. If they are around in 8 months time still I might consider buying some of their gear. Provident seem to trust them though.

Just my experience every single order has been received,

as well as 5oz Debt & Death coins I am tracking now.

No complaints.

I live just a couple hundred miles away and have yet to recieve my small order from over a week to two weeks now i called during business hours and never got an anser... to their credit they did call me back personally i wouldnt do any serious business with them

Personally, I really want this entire fiasco to die a very fast death. I'd prefer if they both never said another word about each other and moved on with their lives. It won't happen, and I'm certain we'll see a video from Mr Duane in a day or so bringing up Rob's past and that nobody should believe a word of what he says in that video.

I'd venture that the truth lies somewhere in the middle of what they're both saying...or maybe what they're both not saying?

I always got my orders, and through them saw the MM go from a terrible mess of an operation to one that that had the ability to make perfect proof coins.

I don't like either party but Duane ruined a good thing just as the mint was running perfectly and producing a flawless product - that does not make sense to me.
Not only did he pretty much destroy the mint, he has also destroyed the SBSS brand.
I don't rate the people involved but the product was excellent, and it sucks that it has been tarnished through this mess.

A sordid mess which has inevitably and finally ended.
A great shame that the line could not be saved, it was an excellent product IMO, for the most part.

I think orders have always been slow, and quality sometimes lacking, but I haven't heard of anyone not receiving an order. They all seem pretty immature about the whole thing, especially that joker Jack Spirko who stuck his fat face into their business, but silver is silver and if I like a design, I buy it.

I only order a few ounces here and there from any of these guys, so no big risk. I think ordering large amounts from any unproven entity is a risk everyone should avoid. Stick to the proven places for big orders and you won't have to come back crying in the end.

Jester, thanks for the heads up and link.

I think the thing I come away with in this whole fiasco is that bullying is reprehensible.

There's always 2 subjective sides to every story. The objective truth, or what might be seen as the 3rd side is what the rest of us try to parse out based on what is presented by the 2 sides.

I wish Rob would have gotten into more detail about some of the relevant accusations by Chris (which I have been following from the beginning). Some of Chris' accusations are completely juvenile and have little to no bearing on the matter on hand. I was turned off very much to Chris after reading and viewing some of his underhanded snipes at Rob.

Though I have enjoyed watching many of the videos Chris has put up on YouTube and the Sons of Liberty site, I have not felt that the SBSS rounds were worth the expense to invest in. I have no regrets about that and I will continue to not support that effort...even more so now in light of how Chris has handled this matter. Chris, through his popularity and gift of gab, was successful in smearing the MM and in getting people to pull their ties or support of the MM. Chris has definitely come off as a bully here and if there's one type of person that disgusts me more than most, it's the bully. Chris could have handled this much differently.

Sadly, even in some forums there are disgusting bullies, some who may even be a moderator and who simply (because they have the authority to and for no other reason) bounce you off the forum. I've seen it happen....fortunately not in this forum though.
