Picked up a 1990 Proof kook for $40. Serial number is 30. Anyone think low serials in the proof kooks makes them more valuable or is it all just a big selling con ?

I took a quick look on feebay, 1990 Kooks look to have risen a bunch in price. I have 1990 UNC around here somewhere. Odd the prices are so high, 300,000 of them were made, hardly a "rare" coin !

I sold 10 1990 proof kooks in the last 3 months on ebay between $50 and $81

I don't understand ebay either.

There are bargains to be had but I think, for sellers, the 'instinct' that silver coins are valuable, coupled with the desensitising of consumers to debt, frequently works in the seller's favour. Push a button, choose a card, get the reward in the mail quite quickly.

Ebay reminds me of that little flutter you get when you're gambling - as you watch the countdown and you want that special something. AND they keep reminding you on email that there are goodies waiting to be swept up.

I still look but the SS traders and some favourite coins shops give better prices, and more reliable service I think.
