low premium, liquid gold

What are some easily recognisable gold with low premiums? I suppose I should be looking at smaller bars or fractional coins. How about 1oz perth mint blobs? Too big?
 
I don't think the 1oz blob is too big, i'd love a small stash of those 'smuggler's' blobs.
I haven't compared premiums for a while so while they aren't anything special, you certainly know what you are getting.
 
Thanks for the suggestions. Would like some opinions on what is more liquid:
- fractional kangaroos
- 5 or 10 gram minted PM/PAMP bars
- or these 1oz blobs?

Anyone think 1oz gold is becoming illiquid?

Fractional 1/10th ozt Roos buddy. Reaches a greater audience of those whom can 'afford' Gold. The higher amount the smaller your world becomes.

Some Top Tier SS Members here will tell you otherwise, but don't you take notice of them mate, they are in that small world category. ;)

1 ozt Gold has a long way before being illiquid. Perhaps when 1 ozt asking price reaches $10,000 AUD or USD (not inflation adjusted) then maybe it will 'start' to become illiquid.
You should be more concerned about zombies before Gold becomes illiquid buddy.

haha thanks for your response. just had a look at bullionclub - 1/10 roos and dragons are the same price (when you buy 50). do you think the lunars would be better? theyre usually quite expensive or do 1/10 lunars command less of a premium?
 
Yeah, that is the con about fractions, they tend to be a wee bit exy/costly with additional attractive premiums.

You are the only one who can justify what is worth it.

Personally, I prefer 1/10th ozt Roos and can justify premiums by reminding myself of zombie apocalypse.
 
I have found quite low premiums in full sovereigns, Aussie $200 coins, 1/10oz coins and 5g and 10g Perth Mint minted bars in certicards.

Easy to buy and easy to sell.

I think if gold reaches $10,000 AUD per oz, then it will be the most liquid stuff on market (any bar/coin size). People will sell their iPhones and kidneys to get more gold.
 
$200 koalas are good, same as the 1 oz bars. I tend to stay away from the smaller fractionals because of the higher premium though they are probably easier to re-sell

Sovereigns for around 3- 5 % premium aren't bad to have a few of either

Also have a look at some of the 1 oz coins like kruggerands, american eagles or Australian nuggets, the premiums on those aren't too high either
