Litecoin decoupling?

Litecoin/Bitcoin ratio has been around 0.025 since the last big run up.

Noticed today, that we're down to 0.022

Any ideas what's got LTC tumbling?

thats a good bluddy question!

i'm hoping its just an opportunity to buy back ltc's at low price

price speculation was closely linked to the mt gox rumour that they would add litecoin. assume now with mt gox gone this has affected the price.

many exchanges have added litecoin already. i don't believe Gox has anything special to offer litecoin or any other crypto for that matter

litecoin was also promoted as "asic immune". expect to see the new scrypt asic devices come online in a few months.

I'd agree with this.
Coming from someone who had intentions of investing for that very reason.

Litecoin is just sticking to the script. It has pretty much followed this same path during each of the 3 phases of Litecoin's price discovery.

The same way a PM investor might use silver to leverage their holdings of gold, Bitcoin's investors can use Litecoin in a similar fashion.

Also, you might notice in 3 out of 3 of the last 3 big run ups in prices for both Litecoin & Bitcoin; Litecoin managed to stage a mid phase rally. If it's going to make it 4 out of 4 Litecoin should be about ready to stage a similar rally in the BLR Bitcoin to Litecoin market (or BLR). Please don't take as advice and DYODD.

If this is the case - then litecoin is a particularly good buy for bitcoin holders at the moment with a swap out ratio of around 0.0217 at the moment

Wow, Just wow! LTC just flashed...smashed upwards from $15 right through to $22 on a massive 40,000 buy order on the BTC-E exchange. I personally don't think this will stop until it hits the 0.04100+ mark

The news that triggered this coin action was the announcement by BTCChina that they have finally "Brothers Reunited" and started listing LTC, with 0% trading fees! https://vip.btcchina.com/ I think it's safe to assume BTC China's fiercest competitor Huobi will soon also get their act together and start listing LTC in the next week or so. Huobi's CEO Leon Li has made no secret of his short term plans of listing LTC. http://forexmagnates.com/exclusive-...the-world-huobi-responds-to-mt-gox-situation/

Did anyone act on this? I was already holding a heap of LTC and have been waiting for the ratio to recover - exciting evening!

Yeah I've been mining DOGE and converting most into LTC so this has proved quite good for me. (albeit small numbers)

Hoping the price settles higher now.

Just hoovered up a bunch of LTC on ANX - love arbitrage
It's nice that LTC is actually fast enough to arb the market :D.

Someone went nuts on ANX and bought up almost all of the LTC that was for sale - sold a *bunch* at $29 AUD each which wiped out one of my aspirational sell orders. I was like  then I saw the top price had exceeded $44 AUD then I was like :(

Basically was able to trade from LTC to BTC at a ratio of something like 0.036 when it was 0.026 elsewhere. Have to love those crazy gotta-have-it Chinese buyers.
