Germany warning citizens to start preparing

According to German sources, authorities are warning people that they should act now to prepare for an event where 'law and order drop'. They've warned that everybody should have regency supplies of food and water for 10 days or more.

Is this a response to local triggers or a more global concern?

I wonder if it has something to do with all the peace loving muslim 'refugees' in Germany?

All those rapes and shootings, etc etc etc etc etc.

etc!

Maybe a moderator can move it to the Current Affairs section for you *nudge* *wink*

I am really surprised by this development. Merkel was the one inviting the refugees in and then standing by her policies....and now she comes out with this? Is she flip-flopping to try and save her career, is it about "scaring the public straight", or is there some more complexity to this that I don't see. It does seem like an over-reaction to the situation and is potentially grossly irresponsible (I suppose the irresponsible theme is consistent with her). Surely there should be a few steps in between the policy shift from "Welcome to Europe!" to now be "Prepare for terrorist Armageddon!!"

Can anyone explain it to me?

With the stuff going on next door in France surely you would have an obligation to say 'be careful' to your country if you had two brain cells. Media hype and paranoid schizo's love this stuff.

I think it's bigger than that. Much bigger. There are deathly dark clouds gathering on the geopolitical horizon.

It may have to do with the EU imploding.
Maybe she anticipates the banks going down and wants the population ready.
As Hitler's daughter she may have her cyanide pill ready too.
All of the above.

They're Germans.

If anyone in the world would be organizing preparations for an emergency, it's the Germans.

LOL! The law holds true!

Something that she and the EU bureaucrats would be in denial about and desperate to convince others is not true.

This would assume she is acting in the best interests of the population - which she has a poor track record of (poor, as in ZERO)

It still doesn't make sense to me. Good try though sammy!

Maybe you're right. It could be a cultural thing that is why I don't understand it.

Do we have any Germans here on Silver Stackers who can shed some light on this?

"National socialism" in German is "Nationalsozialismus". People should know what that was abbreviated to.

I am a German and very embarrassed for all the sh!t happening there, I immigrated to Canada 1996 as I was fed up with the crap back then.

So it is strange as Merkel has proven she does not give a rats ass about the German personnel whatsoever. In fact she has the mayor of town(s) tell the locals with respect to the forced enrichment's: Quote "...Germany is a free country and if you do not share our values you are free to leave the country...."
In other words, we do what we want and if you don't like it, f-off.
Why would she all of the sudden care for 'Germans' -read Nazis- ?

No, No, No....you've got it all wrong Pete.

The Nazis were fascists and everyone knows that fascism is the opposite of socialism. Didn't you go to school???

Their football team lost to Brazil in the gold medal match that's all.

The Germans sent their "c" team to the Olympics and allowed the Brazilian team to win in exchange for some lucrative benefits.

The game was a fix.
