Found : The Crypto for mainstream adoption

More stuff I posted on Steemit. I feel a bit like I'm neglecting SS of late but hey, what can I say? I'm getting paid over there.

Bitcoin was the first, but it is really the best? What are we really looking for in a crypto when we want to buy and sell stuff in the course of our day to day lives?

If I am buying something with crypto I am looking to use one that is secure, stable, fast to transact with very low fees. That doesn’t exactly sound like Bitcoin – whichever flavour you are into.

Steem is dead - it didn't even have a rise in August when the majority of crypto's rose...
I would avoid it like the plague personally.
Much better opportunities elsewhere.

Steem currently is priced at $1.12 with a market cap of about $272 million USD and Steem Dollars has a market cap of about $3.5 million USD.

Good luck with it - wish you well.

Think there will be some very volatile movement in crypto over the next few weeks.

this is commingfrom someone who reccommended genesis mining so their picks are obviously flawed to begin with

I am too tired to find the source, but I am pretty sure that STEEM has the blockchain with the highest transaction throughput currently. Yes, higher than Bitcoin.

That, and I believe the plan is to migrate the STEEM platform onto EOS once it's ready.

We will see what happens when the fabled Lightning Network finally arrives. Maybe it'll be a game changer, but maybe it'll look pretty much the same as the current banking system but we'll rename the banks as "payment gateways" or something.

Oh, I should add I wrote that 3 months ago and I was wrong about the STEEM DOLLAR being stable. Along with so many others it has become a speculative asset and has broken its peg. Who could imagine this crazy market would bid up a crypto whose main utility was being stable. The benefits of hindsight.

STEEM is way more centralized than bitcoin so it doesn't really compare 1:1 when it comes to transaction volume.

A lot of the new coins have very centralized features which make them secure while they are not very used. It is better to be more centralized and secure than weak and decentralized.

Steem is taking off. Should easily be over $60 per coin. They do now have some competition in the Your Network which will use Bitcoin Cash as their native cryptocurrency. LBRY could possibly challenge them as well. Akasha is another that will use Ethereum,I believe.

So competing with Steem's 3-second block intervals by using chains with 10 min blocks (BCH) or 15 seconds and congested with kitties (ETH)? Doesn't sound like much of a threat yet.
