COA Issue number importance???

Sorry if it's been covered. I've just started dipping my toe into the numi world. Picked up a couple of the Wildlife Pandas. COA numbers are 2221 and 2222. Do solid numbers affect values all that much, bank note collectors seem to get a bit excited about solid serial numbers.

I don't think so much for coins (unless is it in the first 10), at the end of the day it is just a piece of paper that can easily be forged. It would hold more significane if the number is printed no the coin it self I think :)
 
I've seen the odd Kilo kook that has had the number etched into the side. One went in the last Melbourne Meet Auction.
 
i'd say potentially they can. if someone desires it enough it could be sold as a collector/numismatic item instead of pure bullion. and the beauty of that, is that you only need to find one buyer willing to pay additional for it.

tho i wouldn't think #2222 would gain any premium, but #1 probably would.

i once bought a silver certificate because it had 6969 in the serial number. it was graded pmg 64 too :p
 
I know someone who collects issue numbers which represent micro-processor model numbers :cool: So if someone sees something of significance to them they may pay more. For instance 03051968 might be important to someone born on that date.

Lol, it would have to be to command any sort of premium with that size of expected mintage ;)

Can't honestly say the number on the COA has ever been of any import to me but I guess to some it might be.
