Hadn't seen it before. Scares me, and I'm not even American.

Holy SH*T !!
NASA will soon be able to launch their new shuttle from the top.

To whom does all this money belong ? i.e who has loaned it to the USA ?

Photonaware,

"To whom does all this money belong ? i.e who has loaned it to the USA ?"

Roughly, it is half and half between foreign and domestic holders. The American holders are firstly the US Department of Social Security, who are mandated to hold ALL reserves in US Treasuries, (THAT means that ALL of the pension contributions has been borrowed AND SPENT by the US Government). Also the various private pensions funds and other investment funds together with large US companies etc.

The other half can be found via Mr Google, and the search - 'Foreign holders of US Treasury Bonds'. You will note there that virtually all the major holders have stopped buying the stuff. Which is why Ben Bernanke is printing US Dollars to buy US Bonds. The added benefit of that litle trick is to turn the Greenback into toilet paper, and that will pay back the 14 to 20 TRILLION easily.

Komrade JuLIAR is working hard to bring about the same insane situation here in Australia. The OZ Mastercard is heading for OZ$300 billion, and it will NOT stop in 2013 as promised.

Sitting on the beach drinking Corona,
I've got a monetary plan that involves a lot of toner.

From the youtube link! He he he he . . . . Hillarious

Washington, DC) -- A stack of one-thousand dollar bills equal to the national debt will reach over 900-miles high.

The Treasury Department says our growing debt is currently more than $14-trillion.

In one-dollar bills, that pile would stretch to the moon and back twice.

The government also borrows about 40-thousand dollars per second.

This is more than the cost of a year's tuition at many universities.

A stack of dimes would wrap around the Earth with change to spare.

That was cool Goldmember! I've seen variations of this but this one puts it in perspective better. Thanks.
