On January 17th Royal Canadian Mint will release new commemorative silver coins. One of them will be Canada 2012 "200th anniversary of the War of 1812" Fine Silver Proof Set. Here's what Mint is saying about this set. "A FIRST! Every coin in our ALL-NEW Fine Silver Proof Set is struck in 99.99% pure silver. Plus, it's the only set offering selective gold plating on the commemorative silver dollar and one-cent coins. Pure prestige!"
From my understanding this set cost $225 Canadian dollars, and the mintage is 20000.
I'm thinking of buying it, but the price is too high.
What do you guys think? Do you think it's a good buy?

Is this the French and Indian War being commemorated?

I think it was a war between English & French Canadian colonists against US. But i'm not really sure.
On a commemorative dollar design two British soldiers & a Indian warrior walking on a battle field.
What really got me curious about this set, is that all coins made from pure 99.99 silver.
