Long time gambler on the ponies, but I've never used Betfair before so if anyone would like to share their experiences and tips for maximising it's potential I'd appreciate it. Most of my bets come from backing one of the top 3 faves usually, with maybe the odd outsider.

I've been banned from a number of the larger corp bookies and as I'm building up my account nicely with the main one I use at the moment I'm just preparing myself to look elsewhere in case I get banned again.

I've also got an account with VicBet, mainly for Tote bets, I'm not expecting to get tossed from that as I suspect it operates with a different policy - well I hope anyway.

Geepuz @ mmm.....shiney! Can you share your tips with me please! I can't pick a winner in a two horse race at the moment

I do use Betfair and they are pretty good, I generally only use it for laying faves I think are well under the odds, or backing horses over 10/1 where I seek value and set my own price and see if anyone takes my bet or not.

My target races are maidens up to 1200m, mid-week and Sunday's, with maybe some country/non-metropolitan races occasionally. Form is mainly around their trial/jump-out runs so most are resuming or first/second-up. I don't bet on anything else with the exception of the Big Dance where there is a lot of value with the class runners usually.
