ASX Enquire status?

Anyone else noticed the market closing early today? All stocks were placed into "Enquire" status at 3pm or so...

Only info i can find about this is the SFE status page saying:

"All markets in ASX Trade have been placed into enquire pending further investigation."

And etrade says:
The ASX has placed the market into an 'enquire' phase. This means that E*TRADE will continue to accept, amend and cancel orders, however these instructions will not execute and will be queued until such time as the ASX reopens the market. This is affecting all brokers.

Technical problems? The last time this happened was in early 2008 (before the shit really hit the fan), when some stocks dropped 20% intraday...

After hours session cancelled because they dont know what the problem is. They are hoping to fix it by tomorrow.

This is a solid reminder on why a physical position in Gold/Silver is so important.

Sometimes it can feel like it, but we are not immune (in Australia) to market crashes/halts or other electronic issues that can easily effect our wealth.

The official message I got at work from the ASX at about 5pm is that "it has been identified that the technical issue with trade dissemination of instrument series was triggered at 14:18:25. ASX is working to complete the dissemination of the impacted trades made from this time until 14:48:01 when the market was placed into enquire. All these trades are valid."

Haven't had anything further, but expect the market will re-open tomorrow morning.

Just makes you wonder if there was a sudden barrage of huge sell orders that might have created a panic hence the suspension.

If Wall st plummets tonight then all bets are off. This might be it.

I tend to believe what the guy was saying, as opposed to most of the comments, which referred to him as a fool.
The others don't seem to get it.

The volume is what the bots are affecting, which thus affects the amount of perceived liquidity. Those opposing him assume the liquidity is there because of the volume, and thus higher prices.
