Anyone giving away PMs for Xmas presents?

The other day at a chriscringle present swap.

I got a silly useless toy. What are people thinking when they buy presents?

Woulda loved to get a silver coin instead.

The perfect gift that keeps going up in value.

So anyone giving away any PMs for xmas?
 
Nope not me. I don't know anyone who is interested. If they want a silly useless toy then that leaves more $ for my pocket to buy PMs.
If i gave a random work acquaintence PMs.... people talk and i don't discuss these issues at work.

My daughter does get her own "special coins" put away for her during the year though. At 3, she doesn't have much of an interest.
That said, she was excited to buy me a "special coin" for xmas - even if it was only a RAM 'Little Dinkum' 1/25 gold cockatoo coin. Apparently she was pretty excited to select it at the shop. I guess it'll go into her pile.
 
yea i got everyone in my family a 1oz silver lunar series 1 coin.

I got the animal that represents their birth date, so it something more personal.
 
My three girls r getting one oz silver lunars for their year of birth two gilded proof and one bullion dragon cause dragons r so damn hard to find. I think I might start a tradition one silver coin per birthday Xmas mum to keep safe of course better than a barbie and same cost. By the time they r 21 they will have nice stack and a few less toys.
 
I'm going to give my girlfriend a 2oz silver kookaburra.

I agree that it is a great gift idea because it's likely to go up in value and yet this is the very first time I'm giving such a gift. I only got into stacking very recently (unfortunately, I so wish I had gotten in earlier) and prior to that silver & gold just weren't something I thought about.
 
My sister received a tassie tiger proof. We were both born in Tasmania so there was a personal link. She was stoked
 
+1 The mrs and I dont have kids so x-mas is pretty much a non-event for us, so we are buying PM's for both of us. Pretty sweet deal when I think about it lol. My old man is buying silver for my mum too, I think its finally sinking in PM's will always hold value and make much better gifts than the latest ipod/camera/phone ect which are virtually worth nothing in 6 months time...
 
Too soon. They still don't get it. Now within the next 5 years they will be asking for silver for Xmas. Then I will have to determine whether they have been naughty or nice. :)
 
Has been giving away few ounces as a present to my relative (1oz gilded tiger to my father in law, he's a tiger and 2oz lunar rabbit to my mother in law, she's a rabbit), the latest one was 1oz kook for my work colleague. Although I suspect that they don't really get the silver thing, they were impressed by the heft and beauty of the coins. I think i will continue this tradition from now on.

Saw a gold-plated ipad on ebay for $1999. Some people have too many dollars and not enough sense.
 
Talking about Silver and Xmas, brings back fond memories as a kid, Xmas Pudding used to be chock full of silver coins. That Tradition Died out when they took the real money off us.
That was in NZ, was it ever a tradition over here in Australia.
 
Pretty sure my grandparents generation did the coins a pudding thing. Sounds like a fun way to break a tooth.

I denied it but someone has been talking :mad:
