Another Coal Mine ready to open up in Central QLD - FK ME

oh come on, i was just making general remark
there are far cleaner energy than coal and we all know it... it aint like the oil companies are really going to suffer

plus China/PRC being a net importer of our coal are growing rapidly, similar in principle to technology, every year doubling and catching up... i doubt they will be our main buyer in a few years... they will be using nuclear plants or some sort
.

They're moving onto thorium reactors and were not even allowed to mine it :( talk about stone age

On 4 corners last night there was a story about Moranbah and the Bowen coal seam deposits...Seems like they have 38 mines at present and another 37 will open in the next few years.

I was recently talking to a man who has been up there for a year...He was telling me about the young single men betting amounts of $10,000. His job is to organize the refurbishment of the dongas and houses in this mining town.. He told me of the waste..It is unbelievable...A family man leaves because his family don't like it and before the next one moves in, everything in the house is replaced from the floor coverings to the kitchen sink. It is a company houses.

Like it said on 4 corners a house to rent up there is $3000 a week...Five single blokes put in $600 which is a drop in the ocean compare with the 4K a week wages.

It is not a place for married people.

It wasn't too bad until the FIFO started in operation.. The community spirit is long gone as the only thing that counts is the $$$$$$$$$$$.

I asked him for a job jokingly and he said I was too old and too lazy as i would only work 50 hours a week and not 100..

Then I said " I will just move there and become an SP Bookie..I will only need one bad gambler a week so it seems". Think of all the silver I will be able to extract from the miners.

SS members get om ABC I view and have a look.. No wonder they can't attract Australian workers.. We must be too smart!

Coal is clean burning. All it emits is relatively harmless C02.

Old nuclear stations, GMO ruining the biosphere of the earth, mass chemicals used everywhere are the real forces damaging our earth.

Besides, those suppressing clean, near free energy sources are the real enemies to our beutiful planet.

BEIJING China's Shenhua Group will build the largest coal-fired power station in Asia over the next five years, the official Xinhua news agency said Tuesday, as the country struggles to meet its energy needs.
China's biggest coal company and officials in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region signed a deal for the 8-gigawatt thermal plant on Monday, according to Xinhua and the local government's website.
Shenhua and the Guangxi government will ensure the new plant's eight power generators get a steady supply of coal from company mines in Indonesia and Australia by building four 100,000-tonne deepwater loading docks, Xinhua said.

...and it aint gonna run on skittles... not matter how warm n fuzzy that might feel.

edit.. bolded some shit

An now hopefully the combaya mob can finally see how fkn retarded this co2 tax is. We are offshoring our cheap power advantage to china.

To spell it out. CHINA WILL HAVE CHEAP LABOUR AND OUR CHEAP POWER....

seriously... ffs... anyone who has played Hot Dog Stand, see's where this is going.... surely

errol, I'm surprised you would listen to anything 4Corners reports. They lost credibility many years ago. Maybe you should do a quick search before posting their BS claims.

errol, the only reason Moranbah exists is because it's a mining town. Emerald and Dysart are real towns. If it wasn't for the mines there would be no Moranbah. Who are the ones whinging about the lack of community in these towns? Some are local business owners who have been there for some time and may have a legitimate complaint. Others are mine employees who bought their houses from BHP many years ago for a song and want to protect their asset so when they sell they can get $1/2 million and move to the coast, so of course they will oppose FIFO. Others are newbies who have only moved to the town recently so who cares what they think.

You'd do well to ignore Auntie.

+10 for coal
Lets deal with an alternative in 20 years time when were out of the Shiet!

In 20 years time there will still be plenty of the Shiet. we have barely touched our deposits and there are
countries with bigger deposits than Australia who are just starting to get mined.

guys and galz i no objecty our government getting fatter pay quiches - that bonus troll comment
i only object 1700 oompa loopmas taking positions

When we have a quickly growing dole queue how do you justify importing any workers.

If you are on the dole and there is a job you are capable of doing, no choice, you go and do it.

There should be rules that if you are on the dole you can be sent to where work is available.
You are sucking on the public teat, you don't have the right of a choice in relation to working or not.

I see mongolia as our biggest threat if thy get their infrastructure and transport issues sorted.

Coal will still be mjr energy source in 2035 it is predicted.

mmm...shiney...I don't take everything that 4 corners or any msm show as being the gospel truth..

However I live in an area adjoining the Bowen Basin and I know quite a few workers from Bundaberg who have gone to work up there, including close family members..

A lot of what was said on the show was the truth but how can anyone know about such goings on if they don't ever run into such workers to tell them what it is really like.

The $$$$$ dazzle can blind many young people from the cities who dream of making big money.

Shiney! I often watch these shows so that I can see how the MSM tries to condition us to a way of thinking that they represent.

So please don't worry about me . I have given up on them a long time ago but for once, a lot of what was said close to the truth.

Local staff miners (especially the ones on strike at the moment) are lazy arrogant arseholes who wouldn't work in an iron lung, and would be holding a stop/go sign anywhere else in the country. The mines have just about had a gutful of them too.

This is coming to a head, my money is on the companies winning - but it will be ugly.

just heard on ABC/BBC radio the amount has now been increased to 10 Billion investment... however i doubt the trio backing the project will be so generous with profits ;)
