Hi SS
I want to share what I just found out about well known bullion coin New Zealand Mint $2 Fiji Taku and it's new reverse design.
Here is the photo(from ebay) and some highlights about this coin (from Apmex).

* Coins come packaged in plastic flips.
*Strict limited mintage of only 350,000 coins or less.
* Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
* Obverse: stylized design of a Hawksbill turtle, also known as the Taku, swimming along the ocean floor amidst tiny bubbles.
*Reverse: Fiji coat of arms and 2013 date.
* Produced by the New Zealand Mint under the authority of Fiji.

Big Improvement.. low premium, low mintage, nice design, legal tender.. im sold!

Pity about the dings. They could have made the design a bit bigger to fill the gap under the FIJI.2013.

The obverse is as cool as ever.

and suddenly it doesn't quite live up to the hype. I suppose the proof-like finish on the reverse side really depends on their Quality Assurance. One ding and it pretty much spoils the whole effect. Now wondering how it will look like on their 5ozers.
