2001 Snake - Cracked Egg Version?

I recently bought a 1oz 2001 Snake and realized there was a 'crack' on the largest egg. I thought it was damaged by a collector hence asked for refund. But as I browsed ebay, I realized there were more of such 'crack' egg. It seems like it was a problem from the mint. Anyone noticed this problem?

Its part of the design. Quite nice IMO, below is a pic of a 2oz proof with the cracked egg.
