HI all,

Today I acquired a 1985 mint roll of 1 cent peices, very shiny with heads both ends. Ive seen advertising with the different configs on mint rolls but dont really know what the significance of it is. Can anyone here enlighten me on this?

Rolls come in three configurations, heads/heads (what you have), tails/tails, and head/tails. In Australia Head/tails and head/head are the preferred configuration for most collectors simply because you can easily tell what year the coins are in the roll. Tails/tails rolls usually sell at a bit of a discount to the other two types because of the uncertainty of the year. This is even the case when there's a concrete provenance for the tail/tail roll (for example it was taken from a mint box of a known year).
