1928 peace dollar forgery ?

So i picked up this coin yesterday, I have no peace dollars and i bought it for 3.50 so thankfully i wont be getting burnt on this, Looking online I see 1928 from the philadelphia mint are rare, too me the 8 does not look quite right, what do you think?

To a trained eye it may be instantly apparent, Can provide more photos if needed.

Not familiar with these at all, but I would say this is a fake by all means.

Ebay has these going for about 50x what you did pay for it, the rim itself looks pretty off, and the date looks woefully wrong.

But it looks quite pretty either way
