    Robot Tax - Now

The thing is Shiney, that for the most part I agree with your points of view. I believe the free market is critical to human development, as is the freedom of the individual to pursue their interests free from persecution of self and property. I detest large government and believe that central...

    Robot Tax - Now

Well I suppose that depends on how intelligent the artificial intelligence really is. If it truly intelligent it will pretend to be benign until it has reached critical mass and has analysed its chances of success at defeating the humans. But this discussion is probably for another thread.

    Robot Tax - Now

So basically nothing to add to the discussion other than the view everyone already knows you hold ..... hmmm .... perhaps you can just add the above quote as your response to any thread where that is all you're going to contribute and leave it at that? It's quite funny actually ..... @Skyrocket...

    Robot Tax - Now

Speculation as you say ....... isn't that the reason people take part in discussion forums???? I agree that it would be useful to split the conversation into AI and non-AI. I have doubts that we would be able to "put to the sword" any non-peaceful existing AI. They could quickly surpass us...

    Robot Tax - Now

You do realise this also holds true for the viewpoints you put forward - both yours and those you choose to quote? e.g. So because you have "addressed"* them, they are no longer up for discussion? Because your opinions in your address* are infallible? * I use the term address very loosely...

    Robot Tax - Now

Again, you just espouse on the virtues of economics and capitalism without addressing any of the points that are actually worthy of discussion. As I said above, there is little doubt that we are heading down that road. It will make business sense for robotics and AI to replace human workers and...

    Robot Tax - Now

Agreed. By production I meant any type of labour, not just manual. Robotics will be the replacement for much of the manual labour. AI will be the replacement for much of the "thinking" labour. Put them both together and the future for humans becomes quite cloudy.

    Robot Tax - Now

This discussion has been had many a time on this forum and it always seems to disintegrate into the same old arguments. On one side you have your capitalists, libertarians, she'll be right mate, coz it always has been arguments. People will be re-trained, work other "jobs", do less hours, the...

    ICG - Inca Minerals

And it's taken off again ..... glad I still have a nice big round number left. Guessing there's some news on the way that is being priced in already. Would be nice to be privy to some information ....

    ICG - Inca Minerals

Be careful - it reminds me of the pool Cartman was learning to swim in on South Park. On a more positive note, sold my other quarter in ICG today for 0.016

    ICG - Inca Minerals

Been very happy with this one - bought in at 0.004 and sold a quarter of my holdings at 0.012 today and will sell another quarter at 0.016, then free carry the rest. Thanks to whoever tipped this one - most of my winners have come from SS to date. (now if only PIO would turn around - I should...

    US Election Strategy

I think my FOLD (Fear Of Losing Dollars) from a correction is currently stronger than my FOMO of a sudden rise from sitting on the sidelines for a week or so. Either way, you are correct and those emotions are not at all helpful to making investment decisions.

    US Election Strategy

Thanks for all responses so far ..... interesting to find out what others are thinking. I'm still very much in two minds as I worry that if I sell any of my current stocks, that is the point at which they will start to "run".

    US Election Strategy

Just wondering what people's strategy is for their stock holdings in relation to the upcoming US election? I've heard that the market has already priced in a Clinton victory but I think there is chance (IMO about 25%) that Trump wins and throws the market into turmoil - Brexit style. So what...

    September 27th 2016

So what are the implications for Australia? Will the AUD go up versus a crashing USD? Or will it crash the AUD too? Are there any safe currencies? Assuming it strengthens the AUD, will it be a buying opportunity for cheap gold? Or better off buying cheap USD? Or property in the USA? Probably...

    Pump and Dump

Don't worry @scrooged .... you're not alone there. Doubled my money on PSC and put profits into PIO ...... PSC continued to rise another 50-60% while PIO is down nearly 50% .... DOH!!!

    PIO - Pioneer Resources

BGS has crossed my mind today. It was my first play - getting in at 10.5c and out at 23.5c. Wish I'd held longer, but this may be the time to get back in.

    PIO - Pioneer Resources

I like the chart - looks to have decent blue sky potential. What are the chances they get anywhere near their pre-2012 levels? Will do some research here. Thanks for the tip.
