The thing about maloney I don't follow is he says he's going to tell ppl when it's time to get out -when his proprietary indicators tell him so - eg down gold ratio < 1 etc. However if he does this he's effectively blowing up his own business. I struggle to believe he'd actually do that.

The other issue you'll face is actually buying the metals with a credit card. I haven't found anywhere that accepts CC without a fee for purchasing metals.

Whether they go belly up is a question of how long / low the gold price goes. Management can't control the gold price but raising equity when they did was a pretty clever thing to do.

I realise it isn't accompanied but a surge in the price, and it is probably not widespread retail buying, but the sort of media reports we're currently seeing was one of the factors on my list as a sign to sell rather than buy - i.e. long waits and lines "around the block", delayed shipments...

Increase volume on many of the stocks today. Not a great sign.

There are a few dealers who buy and sell round 50s, in a sort of flow business manner. Won't point them out directly, but you will know who they are depending on which state you live in. My question is, do they really make any money with such a low spread? Some are 40-50c between buy and ask...

Have just subscribed for the trial for 90 days. Reviewing 2012 info would confirm this. He seems to have had a short bias for most of 2H12 so will be interesting to see if he turns that around. I must say so far I'm not that impressed, some of the ideas / comments he makes aren't that original...

Yes - as they say hindsight is 20/20. However, i would hope there was a bit more rigour around the decision making process than the 7 pages in the document i referenced. A first year uni student could've put something more thorough together.
