Thanks for the helpful responses you guys. I was wondering where this post had gone - tu be out I had posted in an incorrect section and a friendly mod moved it here :) Anyway, I would like to purchase the Queens Beast 1/4 oz gold and I don't see it listed on the website. It would be awesome if...

Question about Sydney Coins & Jewellery store

Hey guys, I had a question about this store because I visited their website and could not find any useful information about their stock of gold coins. They do list a couple (two coins) but say they're all out of stock. Actually, the site doesn't seem to have very have much information about the...

2017 Bullion Sovereign Design (slightly weird?)

So I am rather disappointed they did not go with the commemorative design for the 2017 bullion sovereign. Instead, they've stuck with the same old design and included some sort of shield mint mark that is (in their words) "placed proudly below the defeated dragon"...

Proof Silver Queen's Beasts - Lion of England

Sneaky, sneaky! They've replaced the pic with a silver Year of the Rooster. Luckily, I saved the image, anticipating something like this :P

Thoughts on Royal Mint's 1918 and 2014 India sovereign two-coin set

That's interesting. One thing to note is the Royal Mint currently has only a 5-year licensing agreement with MMTC-PAMP India to produce the "I" sovereigns, running from 2013 through 2017. I suppose if you aren't paying too much of a premium on the 1918 sovereigns, it should work out well for...

Proof Silver Queen's Beasts - Lion of England

I may have stumbled on something on the Royal Mint website. I don't think they've announced this yet, but it looks like they are releasing a silver proof version of the Lion of England coin. I saw this on the Christmas Gift Guide page, in the Luxury Gifts section banner...

    Potential new 2017 Sovereign design

You're welcome. I'm wondering if the bullion sovereigns will also have the same design... the proofs on sale now are extremely expensive.

Thoughts on Royal Mint's 1918 and 2014 India sovereign two-coin set

I believe the 2013 India Sovereign was also released in a limited quantity to some VIPs in India at its launch. They were graded GEM UNCIRCULATED by NGC and were distributed in a wooden box with a certificate of authenticity. Is this the 2013 "Gem" you are referring to? If so, wow! :)

Thoughts on Royal Mint's 1918 and 2014 India sovereign two-coin set

Thanks very much for your reply. You are right, after 1918, they have only struck Full Sovereigns in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, and the Half Sovereign in 2014. I have seen the 2015 Full Sovereign on the Royal Mint Bullion website, and while the 5% discount does shave off a wee bit, one needs...
