I love the gilded series very much, look even better as a set, personally I think it is more elegant than the colour proof, at least the coins contain 24 carat gold instead of of ink, a set that I'm collecting to keep and not selling :)
There are always two sides of opinion. Think it is definitely unfair for those who bought these coins with high marked up preimum. I really like the design of most of the kooks and think they look so great in a set. At one stage I saw the full set to date was selling in eBay for $2000+, I was...
Yes I did, I got the 1 ounce rectangular Lunar rabbit. Very nice looking coin http://www.jvp-investment-coins.de/Cook-Islands-2011-100-Year-oft-he-Rabbit-1Oz-Gold_c26-70_p1157_sid1b1a2b1e22d92fdeab9049565ee9a320_x2.htm

Also various 1, 1/4, 1/10 oz and 5, 10 grams gold proof coins selling for at or below bullion price, most of them were gone within couple of days, I managed to grap a few of the proof gold, extremely happy =)
Please excuse me if the answer to this question appears to be obvious.
Is a proof colour 1oz .999 gold coin (perfect condition, with COA and nice packing) selling at $60 above spot a good price? Anything wrong with buyinga colour proof gold coin apart from the usual high preimum?
Thinking if...
We all need to make a living and who wants to sell at a lost, which does not cover the overhead cost that is required to run the business? As long as the price is not overly marked up. I think the forum dealers are pretty reasonable with their price.
The case is made of plastic.
This coin was available at Downie (Melbourne) about a month ago for a couple of days without being advertised and sold out, I happened to walked pass the shop on the first day when the coin was first put out in the display window and bought one from them for $139...
How about lead, who should use it?, some cream or cosmetic such as foundation in the past found containing lead, for prolonged use, will develop black pigmentation on the skin.
I buy the loose coin without a box as I've already got a presentation case for all the 12 coins, every coin comes with a cert.
I think I must have bad taste, somehow I like coins that others don't, e.g. koala as well :D
