    The New Cold War

Australia is quite valuable. Shale gas, resources and low population. Shale gas for energy obviously Resources for raw materials low population means we consume less locally and more willing to export the rest for profit.

As goes Greece, so goes Spain, Italy... And the UK and USA?

I thought the debt bubble thing was not limited to the oldies. I thought the youngsters that was given loan with very lax lending standard was contributing to the bubble too.

As goes Greece, so goes Spain, Italy... And the UK and USA?

Can kickstart does not mean it will. Some people with great ideas can benefit from credit. But it is the case of 1% good ideas, 99% just there for easy money. Sometimes the 1% is worth it, most of the time we have economic crash.

As goes Greece, so goes Spain, Italy... And the UK and USA?

In theory, debt is just purchasing now backed with promise of future productivity. In simpler terms, bringing future money now. But in reality, most people just really suck at handling money and debt. I think it is more of the mentality of the people at fault rather than debt itself. Debt can...

As goes Greece, so goes Spain, Italy... And the UK and USA?

I can't see the economic crisis taking down the world. The only way that will happen is by detonating all nukes everywhere. Financially, power will shift, just need to try and prepare for power shift.

Big Big day for Greece tmrw.... What will they do?

I have nowhere else to discuss these issues, the christian forums does not have an open stance, they have a closed stance. So no matter where the discussion goes or discovers, the end must never change their point of view. I prefer public forums rather than 1 on 1, gets too confronting on these...

Big Big day for Greece tmrw.... What will they do?

The old testament is originally Jewish document. Let me clarify then, I refer to christian bible as the new testament. The new testament part did not quite exist in writing form prior to 50 a.d. This discovery can be skewed, because Constantine (first christian emperor) and countless other...

Big Big day for Greece tmrw.... What will they do?

@earthjade: you brought up an interesting topic on the history of bible. There were no known written christian documents until 50 a.d.; 20 years after the christ died. Up until that point, it was all verbally communicated. Likelihood of chinese whispers was very high. Up to 140 a.d. there was...

Germany considering Australian Dollars as reserve currency

They don't need the depth or anything. They just need a country that is wealthy enough and at the same time least likely to devalue their own currency. Thanks to our lack of manufacturing, we actually love high AUD, so we can import (give money to everyone else) cheaper. But high aud = death of...

Germany considering Australian Dollars as reserve currency

Don't bother timing it. A lot of things can happen within 9 months. AUD is overvalued at this time. Will it correct? Maybe. Can the valuation increase? If china is successful in its bid to re-ignite property bubble, maybe.

I think it will either be another deadlock or the public will vote back the pro bailout guys.

Hugo Price and Max Keiser can save Greece - With Silver!

As always, after revolution then people are left with anarchy and then order re-emerges again. The same sort of government that is brought down in revolution will be brought up again.

    AUD is a risk proxy.

That is how it has always worked. Strong currency is good for the public but bad for business. Weak currency is good for business but horrible for public.

    AUD is a risk proxy.

Agree with you on China wanting our resources, we in turn wants the finished goods from china (t-shirts, steel, manufactured goods) which is more profitable for china than it is for us. The winner in Australia are the mining guys, but the general public loses. Commodities are priced in USD and...

    AUD is a risk proxy.

They are not encouraging it, rather they keep it in limbo. For as long as it is in limbo, then the currency devalues controllably. Once it defaults or it is out of the sticks, then no more control.
