Ah, the camera cord was left at the inlaws' house. Finally have the pictures here. All the pictures are taken through plastic except the 2007 panda (panda side). [/imgz] [/imgz] [/imgz] [/imgz] I know the carpet details are a giveaway a lot of the times so here is a close up of one of...

Bringing gold and/or silver into New Zealand on my WHV

Thanks a bunch! We intend to. We're landing in Auckland Sept 1st (leaving Los Angeles August 30, I will never experience august 31 2011 ... sort of) Any silverstackers in Auckland? We plan to be there a bit and travel about the north island for a while, then south island and decide on a place...

Bringing gold and/or silver into New Zealand on my WHV

Yes, I found that according to chapter 71 in sectin XIV of you Working Tariff Document that fine bullion (Ag, Au) does not incur a tariff upon entry. Fine gold coins, legal tender or not in NZ, also do not incur a tariff. Anything that does not fall under that (ie. 22k american gold eagles or...

    Panda specifications

Oh gosh, I meant +/- 0.05mm not half (0.50mm). So it seams as if it is an OK tolerance if my Eagles were within a larger tolerance range than that (0.10mm).

Bringing gold and/or silver into New Zealand on my WHV

HA, I just realized that since mid march 2011, in terms of USD gold and silver have gone up 14-14.5% the New Zealand dollar has gone up 18% the australian dollar has only gone up 10%

    Panda specifications

Thank you. As far as tolerances go though, is +/- half a millimeter acceptable? As an experiment I measured several ASE's and they were 40.57 - 40.63 so, not exactly 40.6 but within that range. ... maybe I'm being paranoid.

Bringing gold and/or silver into New Zealand on my WHV

What I was mainly concerned about were the duties/taxes that you mention. So, to the best of your knowledge there are not duties on gold but there are for silver? Most my gold (under 5 oz) is legal tender somewhere (USA, Canadian, Chinese) If the silver is also coinage/legal tender (like...

Bringing gold and/or silver into New Zealand on my WHV

I wanted to bring a little PM for the year that my wife and I would be in New Zealand (starting this August 2011). If someone else has done this, please chime in. It would not be a ton, maybe a few ounces of gold or a 100 or 200 ounces of silver. Am I going to have trouble at customs? I was...

sorry, will have to wait on the pictures. the wife has misplaced the camera data cable. in the meantime, are the other measurements sound? I used a set of Browne & Sharpe metric calipers (pretty precise instrument).

    panda tolerances

I bought my first two silver pandas today. a 2004 and 2007. Everything looks exactly like it should. One is in a sealed capsule that doesn't look like it would open easily. The other (2007) is in a capsule that has a little divot in the side about the size of a finger nail. I opened that...

What should these have gone for?

A few weeks ago, I bought a 1991 1/2 oz gold panda in the mint package for 3% over spot, which is what my coin guy sells most of his gold for (even fractional! I know, its crazy). Last week I bought a 1984 1/10 oz gold panda for the same premium. I know they were a pretty good bargain, but...

    2011 ASE - $59.95 limit of 100

doesn't make sense though. 34.8 x 1.75 is 60.90 so that price is 75% over spot.
