    [QA] Getting Coins graded

Keep in mind this is for coins HE has had resealed, there will often be coins floating around among dealers that have been resealed anytime in the last two decades. Sometimes it is resealing using the mint packaging and heat strips, sometimes it can be a simple as using a regular strip sealer...

MS What? -- Determining the value of Graded vs. OMP

I really like this development, however I am unsure as to its current applicability to the market. It goes towards setting the bar that MS67 == OMP in value across the entire range of MCC. Considering 1oz bullion coins, I have not seen many examples out in the marketplace that this is the case...

    [QA] Getting Coins graded

I think you misinterperted what Tamo mentioned. Here is the direct quote from Peter Anthony

LBC Modern Chinese coin investments LIST #124

Well, thanks to you both, I investigated them shortly after you mentioned them and picked up an OMP sheet. Hopefully we all make a solid return. It is interesting how word travels and generates hype.

He also mentions the 1998LD 1oz BU Panda. Something I know fishball has mentioned a few times as very undervalued. There is a pretty hot auction for a MS69 on eBay at the moment that looks to eclipse the previous top sale price.

    [QA] Getting Coins graded

Thanks very much for this heyimderrick. While there has been no official announcement, and NGC staff seem confused on the matter, it now seems clear that there is no longer the fee for variety attribution. I have edited my original post so it reflects the correct information.

    [QA] Getting Coins graded

NCS/NGC really need to pick their act up on this, because they are providing different information to different people at different times. All varieties, including LD/SD are still listed on their variety plus categories, and there are no mentioned exceptions/exclusions. The quote from Peter...

    [QA] Getting Coins graded

You are right about this being confusing. To answer your question. You would need to submit them under the NCS Modern Tier for $26.50. Ironically, with this variety, you will still only get SMALLTWIG SMALLDATE attribution, because MD is not recognised by NGC at this time. Variety and Large...

    2010 MS70 Panda

Both are great ways to collect, and as disclosure, I do keep a full set of 1oz BU Pandas in OMP, but I have far more coins in NCS/NGC slabs. With the current conservation technology alone, I think it is foolish not to slab a coin worth more than $100. I have had quite valuable coins in OMP...

Counterfeits and the future of modern chinese coins.

Some of you might have been following the recent discussions in the silver forums over some very attractive faked 1oz bars. Nearly all of you will be aware of the sheer volume of counterfeit 2000 Mirror Pandas currently on eBay, and infiltrating dealer stocks. Currently, these products, while...

    Opinion on this Panda please

It is hard to tell from a photo like that. Especially when it looks gold on my screen. I am going to assume it looks silver in real life. Since it is out of the capsule, just weigh and measure it, and it will give you a pretty good idea of which metal it is made from. It should be 31.1g and...

    eBay Panda discussions

The Pictures are stolen from genuine dealers listings. Here is an example. Scam Listing Genuine Listing This one is especially incriminating, as the 1994 G10Y is 1/10oz as listed in the genuine listing, not 1/2oz as depicted in the scam. A find like this is really good, as now the genuine...
