    Why do women "like" Krugerrands?

What does that prove, as a global brand Sovereigns and Krugerrands are the best known gold coins in the world. You could compare Coke=Krugerrand with Irn Bru=Maple, in Scotland. Coke is the best known global brand of soft drink but in Scotland it is outsold by Irn Bru.

Are the 10oz lunars a decent investment?

That is a good buy at that price and they are impressive lumps, after the 2ozers the 10ozers are my favourite coin size. Re investment potential all the series 1 10ozers make very good money if you wish to sell and so do the series 2 mouse tiger and ox especially the mouse.

2-oz proof Lunar Series 1 - complete set

I've got the same set and I'd turn down 10K USD for mine as well, its not for sale at any price. The 2oz set is incredibly hard to complete, It took me nearly 2 years to complete mine and that was with a bit of very good luck involved, buying 7 of the 12 coins over 4 months off a German collector...

UK Market-rigging Laws to Cover Currency, Oil, Gold & Silver

Now that is interesting, I wonder which financial watchdog is going to police this government statement and if it will have any teeth.

Is the whole lunar thing getting a bit over-played?

Maybe every country is jumping on the lunar bandwagon but the Australian Perth mint lunar series is the best by a mile, they are very popular in Europe and America & as someone said all the other lunar offerings will eventually fall by the wayside. Other series I'd like to see are 10oz silver...

Opinions needed on premium for a couple 1/4 oz gold lunars

I don't know mate I like the 1/4oz proof mouse and you can buy them in Europe for equivalent $550AUD http://www.silber-corner.de/de/Lunar-II-Maus-1/4-Oz-Gold-PROOF

Opinions needed on premium for a couple 1/4 oz gold lunars

If I were you I'd buy it now, because what will happen when you've got the rest the mouse won't be available anywhere or will be a lot more than $500. I know this from experience :o so if I get the opportunity to buy a coin albeit slightly more than I think its worth I still buy it.

    Slabs...?

Slabbed coins are mainly a US thing it is big there but not in Europe.I collect mainly proofs, most collectors in Europe prefer boxed, cased & cert with all original stuff not slabs. I can see the case for slabbing pandas as some sort of authenticity guarantee but other than that no thanks.

Random people turn down an ounce of gold for $25

I notice he wasn't quite as keen/enthusiastic about selling the gold maple leaf :) as he was the silver dollar.

Random people turn down one ounce silver coin for $1, spot was 30+

Plus the guy approaching people to sell the silver $ would put people into defensive/switch off mode, wether it was a good deal or not. People do not like to be hassled on the street with a camera stuck in their face.

    Why do women "like" Krugerrands?

They are to us stackers/collectors, but no one outside the US or Canada would have clue what they are. In the UK they would think one is a bird the other a tree leaf whereas Krugers are well known here and the world over.

    Why do women "like" Krugerrands?

They are one the most well known gold coins in the world the other being the gold sovereign. You go anywhere in the world and you can sell them no problems. They Krugerrands are not difficult to sell in the UK everyone knows what they are, more so than the UKs 1ozer the Britannia gold coin.

Belgium Investigating Repatriation of All Gold Reserves

That is a very good question. My personal take is the US and Britain to a lesser extent don't give a s--t about any laws and just do what they like. But I'd love to hear what anyone else's thoughts are on phrenzy's interesting question

    Kiyosaki: "there's 11 years-worth of silver left"

That is absolutely true in the modern day west. The same drivel is peddled by the socialists in the UK, what they mean by poverty is only being able to afford a 40ins plasma TV instead of a 60in,only go on one holiday a year instead of two etc etc. The only reason there is perceived child...

    Thoughts on Germany's "Fed gold"...

Yes you are possibly correct, I really meant that tongue in cheek because you brought the subject up. I'm not really a fan of the Italians because of the way Hadrian treated my ancestors in AD 120-30 but I got over it
