There was no 1990 plain 2oz kook proof they started in 1991.Check & see if it is 1991.

That's because hardly anyone collects the kilo sets, very good value if you do though. The 2oz & 1oz plain proof coins are the most desirable & collected.

I have just had an email from a friend of mine in the US, he bought that coin & as I suspected it was the last one he needed for his set, unfortunately for him someone else was also desperate for the 2003 as well.

I could be wrong but I think up until 1998 they just came in the leather wallets, its not too important any way for the pre 2000 coins,2000-2005 its best if you have the outer box. Next time I go through my coin case/box storage stuff I'll check to see which came with outer boxes.

I'd say $200 AUD is a fair ballpark figure, price range for a mint 2oz coin in original capsule $180-$220.But you know the score if it goes on ebay it can make more or less than $200 depends who is after it & if it is open the UK & US buyers as GBP & USD are very strong against AUD.

That will be a one off,someone obviously was desperate for that particular coin. The kook proofs especially the 2oz coins have doubled in value over the last 12 months or so, the 1ozers are up around 30% on a year ago it is mainly the 2000 onwards coins that are the most sought after. I should...

They are my 3rd choice dragafem (S2) & I'm collecting 2oz & 1oz on going :)

As a collector, if I was in the market for a lump of 10oz gold I'd take that dragon at 15% over spot than a 10oz bar any day of the week.

If that is just a bullion coin & not a genuine reverse proof in other words a specially prepared highly polished blank struck at least 3 or 4 times in a specially prepared die, it is outrageous that Apmex is taking the p--s like this.

Complete waste of money for a modern coin, the only reason to grade a coin IMHO is to prove authenticity which is mainly aimed at older numi coins or heavily counterfeited coins such as pandas, grading is a big thing in the US where there is big marketing machine behind it.
