    Anything That's Peaceful

I think a big part of election outcomes is that many people weight issues vastly differently and don't really understand that they can have a political philosphy. In the previous Federal election for example, one person told me very specifically that they voted purely on the basis of a single...

    Useless Trivial facts

Profits go to those who satisfy the most wants of consumers not currently met in the most useful and cheapest way. Currently I am guessing there's a lot of consumers in the region whose most urgent wants have changed toward their house/business and contents. Luxury restaurants will presumably...

    Robot Tax - Now

I'd become a little homunculus living inside a superior cyborg body like the aliens in Independence Day (except I'd make myself sexier with bigger boobs and a high powered machine gun that comes out of my ass like Astroboy).

    Robot Tax - Now

Isn't that a problem of an individual responding to the incentives relating to the compensation laws? I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that it was people vs companies. Worth noting also, that many economists (and non-economists) since that episode have pointed out the flaws...

    Robot Tax - Now

Absolutely. It's also why there are thousands of sci-fi books creating stories around the idea. I agree that it would be useful to split the conversation into AI and non-AI. But not numerically (on the assumption that it will become relatively quickly apparent if peaceful, mutually beneficial...

    Robot Tax - Now

This is simply answering the question I've (repeatedly) posted over the years: "What does the owner of the robot factory making 10,000 shoes a day do with the shoes?" Say's Law.

    Robot Tax - Now

As I posted, separating the discussion into non-AI and AI is useful. The benefit of non-AI robotics is a no-brainer. The benefit of true-AI crosses into the area of philosophy as you are talking about how different intelligent species can peacefully co-exist both practically and legally...

    Robot Tax - Now

Well I did already address that. Automation is nothing especially new or scary and is highly desirable. True AI however, does have the potential to replace humanity altogether and humans become extinct. A robot tax will not fix the issue of a war between two intelligent species.
