Single digits hey .... That's quite interesting. When exactly did you last experience that GSR? I hoped you did a full swapsie on your silver stack  Mr.G

Whats going on with the silver price?

All hail Justin the oracle !!!!! That was a good call - How'd you know? Was your old arthritic knee a bit twitchy yesterday? Mr.G

why did silver drop to $26/oz last year

My understanding was that the comex lifted the margin requirements for CFDs. This was a significant margin hike and squeezed a lot of the smaller scale paper traders out of the market as they were not able / willing to trade / risk the higher amount of $ required to enter a CFD. Mr.G

Whats going on with the silver price?

That would be quite alot of growth over the course of this week. Market closed at $33.20 last week so a $35 close tonight represents around a 5% gain. Why do you think it will reach $35? Also, do you think it'll stay up ? Mr.G

Maybe it's time to start thinking about an exit strategy - Ouy Tolgoi

Cimexus, I couldn't agree more. As a nation we really need to look at a long term strategy of how we will grow and develop around our economic assets. Interesting story in the Courier Mail today, (Don't laugh just yet). The head of Adani is negotiating with Feds to "import" the mining...

Maybe it's time to start thinking about an exit strategy - Ouy Tolgoi

Good luck finding a vacancy at a caravan park in any worthwhile resource region to begin with. For instance the motels and caravan parks in Mooranbah in Bowen Basin are all fully booked out for the next 18 months ! Anyway aren't most of the mining companies now favoring FIFO arrangements...

Yeh I saw that auction, I think you got a good buy that day. I was planning a sniper attack but was out of town when it finished [or out on the town more like it ;) ] Mr.G

Iran Could Make Silver Bugs Filthy Rich

Iran war would likely result in the death or displacement of hundreds of thousands if not millions of Persians. Surely the SS's community has a slightly higher sense of conscious then to discuss the merits of silver investment because its used to in weaponry. I know I sound like a peace...

    Silver Ready to Explode

That is a thought provoking analysis. The technicalities of the 'backwardation' appear to have some credential as does the boom-bust cycle highlighted in the charts to a lesser degree. I imagine some investment banks algorithm will kick-in in response to the 'backwardation', this potentially...

    Series 1 Ox

Yeh RM, i saw those ebay sales recently too. I thought they were pretty cheap given the mintage. I'm very surprised given that pigs, goats, dogs, monkeys ect... have been selling here on SS's for around $90 and they are all much higher mintages. Based on the fact that this is a 'rarer'...

    Series 1 Ox

Hi All. I'd like the opinion of people who are experienced Lunar collectors / traders. My question is regarding 1oz silver Ox Series 1. Now I understand that these are the lowest mintage 1oz silver of the Lunar Series 1 with only 52,000ish. Does this make them a Key Date Coin? I have not...

Ideas on what combo to buy

Hi Scorp, It always exciting planning a purchase. I like nugets selection, however I would weight the ratio opposite. I'd go: - 2x 1oz gold [$3,600]. - 4 x 10oz silver [$1,400]. I say this as I believe that gold would fair better than silver if the market goes hostile against europe's...

    Central banks act!

I had to laugh at this. The most ironic quote ever jointly issued by the central banks : "The purpose of these actions is to ease strains in financial markets and thereby mitigate the effects of such strains on the supply of credit to households and businesses and so help foster economic...

cheapest 1 and 1/2oz coins/rounds/bars in or delivered to AU

Hi Whitty, Good thinking! I think for the purpose of trading its good to have a couple of spare small denomination generic items in you stack. This way you can have more flexibility to tailor negotiations for dis-similar products. For instance you could negotiate a trade of a generic 10z...

Key long term supports for Silver

Dear Scorpion, In response to the age old question regarding the length of a pice of string : It is twice the length on one end to the centre. I hope this helps. Come to think of it, this seems to be a pretty similar formula the one that gelxi used on the charts. Mr.G

Japanese intervention - gold price drop

I recognise your point...however I cannot see a politically acceptable alternative for any of the economies you mentioned. All the powerful governments have central banks fiddling with financial policy [I understand this is the heart of Keynesian Economics] so if these central banks were to...

Japanese intervention - gold price drop

Is it not a case that the Japanese intervene, by devaluing their currency, in an attempt to ensure their manufactured export products remain affordable to the US and Europe customers. To me this seems like they are trying to maintain their place in the market rather than being priced out of...

    Two Cents please!

+1 with the advice to list a WTB ad. You'll probably be able to get fractional coins at reasonable prices if that's a suitable option. Also try not to get too hung up on the issue of liquidity or brand names. You'll have no problem selling a generic 1/2 oz button here. I know where you're...
