Love the hammer indentations, surprisingly awesome looking. I'd buy a bar that looked like that on both sides.
I wonder if something like this would sell at higher premium than a mass produced mint bar because of its uniqueness.
Can vouch for BullionNow. One of the few, if any remaining dealers in Melb that offer 100% spot buyback rate. Plus Michael and the team are top blokes.
Amazing, but i can't help but think they'll get caught. All it takes is one, just one, of the thieves to get caught and spill the beans and the rest will be rounded up in no time. For the gold however, I'm sure that's already listed on ebay :-p
High volume combined with the spread between the sell rate (above spot) and the buyback rate (below spot) is how dealers 'stay afloat'. Think about it, even with spreads as low as 2% on a 1 ounce gold bar valued at AUD$2000, that equates to $40 profit when a dealer buys the bar and another $40...

A two-kilogram gold nugget has been unearthed by one lucky prospector in Victoria.
The prospector - who understandably wishes to remain anonymous - dug up the nugget on the outskirts of Ballarat, a one-time gold rush town.
Prospecting gear supplier Mark Day...
Very jealous, but equally excited that these beauties can still be dug up in my home state.

I note this price is in USD. Had it been in AUD I would think it a more reasonable target. Gold at USD3000 would mean approximately AUD4250 if both currencies remain at similar levels as they are today.
Unlikely, but i guess anything's possible.
