Legends of Asgard: Max Relief the star of a beautiful new Odin coin

Mine looks great! I'll try and post pictures later. Were you still looking to get one? I've got a second one that I'm potentially willing to sell... send me a PM if you're interested and maybe we can sort something out.

New 2oz Perth Mint Silver coin with antiqued finish

I'm liking it better, but still very hesitant to get it. I can think of other coins that I've paid the same amount for that I like a lot less than this one.

New 2oz Perth Mint Silver coin with antiqued finish

I was just wondering, will Downies be carrying the Zombie Roo coin and any indications on what the price will be when it's issued? ;)

New 2oz Perth Mint Silver coin with antiqued finish

If I remember correctly, they bill you near shipping time. They seem to ship 2-3 weeks after their release date. I'm not sure if they'd do it for overseas buyers, but in Australia, once you buy one, they send out monthly catalogs with the coins being released that month. Alternatively, if you go...

New 2oz Perth Mint Silver coin with antiqued finish

I kind of think this coin is in a different space than the Zeus coin. Australian mints make a ton of kangaroo coins. There's the RAM 1 oz silver coin with a different design every year. I think there's 2-4 different variants of that one. Perth Mint (?) or was it RAM has just came out with a new...

    Overseas Storage

Confiscating privately owned bullion seems like a slow and clumsy way of dealing with the issue. It would take a lot of labour to go through each safety deposit. Then to go searching from house to house for anything of value... If a situation like that happened wouldn't the potential for it to...

    Overseas Storage

Even if you stay in Australia, the U.S. dollar is worth more now. The problem for your argument is that a lot of other currencies have dropped in value relative to the U.S. dollar and the price of a lot of the things we buy have dropped relative to the U.S. dollar. The drop of the of the...

New 2oz Perth Mint Silver coin with antiqued finish

I'm interested in it but kind of suspect it will be cheaper in several months to buy it from a flipper.

Sure the Aussie dollar has dropped a ton vs. the U.S. dollar but it hasn't translated into everything costing more. Just SOME of the things priced in U.S. dollars. I'd note oil is a lot cheaper now as is petrol. Groceries don't seem to have changed much in price with a few exceptions. There...

New 2oz Perth Mint Silver coin with antiqued finish

Check the Perth Mint page, but I think 8 am AWST Feb. 2nd (e.g. this morning). I think the Feb. 3rd date is for a subset of the coins being released but not this one.

Great Balls of Odin! How do we choose which coin to buy?

I can give the first 3 a bit of a pass. Presumably they all started development in secret around the same time and were probably too far down the line to drop the project when they found out about the other projects. I'm not really sure what Perth Mint's excuse is, they could have just looked...

Great Balls of Odin! How do we choose which coin to buy?

In case you haven't liked any of the other 20 versions of Odin released in the past year, Perth Mint's 2 oz, silver high relief antiqued version of Odin will be released March 1st.

New 2oz Perth Mint Silver coin with antiqued finish

Seeing as the mint mailed me the release day bulletin, I'm assuming that the image is no longer embargoed... [/imgz] The mintage is 3,000 and the prices is $199.00. ETA: looks like the Norse Gods - Odin will be released in March.

New 2oz Perth Mint Silver coin with antiqued finish

Wait a minute.... ANOTHER Norse Gods/Kings/Legend/etc. series?!? I'll be avoiding that like the plague. 4 series in six months or am I missing a few?

Legends of Asgard: Max Relief the star of a beautiful new Odin coin

They do seem to be selling... just looking at the completed listings, I see seven sales in December. The problem for me is that they are at my break-even price. The one sold on Dec. 10th was from an auction and had 20 bids and sold for $202.50 US/$278.33 AUD.

Buying Silver from EbayClassifieds or Kijiji

Whereabouts in Canada do you live? If you are close to the border, there are lots of receivers just over the line where you can have stuff delivered for a fee of $5 or so. Might be a decent option.... Have you looked at silvergoldbull.ca? They seem to have somewhat reasonable prices and are...

Anyone interested in getting an 1804 U.S. Silver dollar for $100?

Not a scam as far as I know. I've been to their antique and estate auctions before and they were legit. On the other hand, I have found that some of the Canberra estate auction auctioneers play a bit fast and loose with the claims they make about the coins they are selling. I've seen 1/10 oz 24...

    Privateer - The Captain

Perth Bullion mentioned in their forum that they are getting them in around Dec. 2nd back on Nov. 26th. I was going to post something here, but just got too busy.
