Opinions Needed: Should I go into debt to buy more silver?

Three year old thread guys... Guys talking about taking $35k loans on CCs at 18% to buy silver at US$46/oz. Claiming it's a no lose situation, as the can just hold until the price recovers. If you did that and were holding until now, you'd have a $57k CC bill, and a stack worth $14k. With...

What about Australian $200 coins? I think I'd take one of those over things like half sovereigns.

Is anyone excited about the Zeus silver coin coming out by Perth mint?

Sorry mate, I think Zeus sold out on the day of release.

Where do you keep your silver?

I have a fair bit in Allocated/Mini-Allocated at two different bullion dealers. At home, I have a bit in a safe. If a thief wants to spend time finding and breaking open my safe, that's fine with me. In the same time they could have stolen a lot more in electronics. Been considering a SDB...

Why do people buy farm/country land?

Why do people buy shoeboxes in the City? I lived in small towns/rural areas for my early life, until my family moved to the fringes of Perth when I started high school. The ONLY reason I live the the suburbs now is work. When I get to the point in my career that I can work full time from home...

    When dollar collapses

By the time you realise you need the survival skills, it's going to be too late to learn them from books. Stockpile enough supplies to let you survive 4 weeks without leaving your house. Think Hurrican Katrina. A dollar collapse is only the start of the problem. The reaction from the...

Silver heading down. Sub US $20 back on the cards?

It's had quick dips past $1395, but bounces straight back up. I wonder if it can maintain that next week?

    10oz - Bars or Coins?

So I was just looking at some 10oz bars, and the cheapest I could see was the "2014 NTR Lunar Horse" for $238.11 (or PM 10oz for $237 direct). Then I had a quick look at 10oz coinds (which I've never really looked at before). Cheapest there was "2014 Perth Mint Kookaburra/Lunar Horse/Koala"...

    500g Silver bar Discussion

Don't see 500g being traded much. 10oz, 1kg and 100oz would be the main ones, so if you intend to sell you might want to stay with those. Some 1oz, 5oz and 20oz bars get traded too...

Silver heading down. Sub US $20 back on the cards?

Gold seems supported at $1400. If it breaks through $1395, I'd expect it to keep dropping until at least $1350. Not a scientific TA though - just gut feeling.

home insurance rise of 20% in 1 year

When I bought my car, it was worth $25k, i was <25 with a crash on my record. Premium was $1050. Now the car is worth $9k and I'm >25 with maximum No-Claim-Bonus. They're demanding a premium of $890 (up from $740 last year). Switched to another (still reputable) mob - $450. Shop around! And...

Gold is about to drop below AUD$1400/oz. Cheap enough to start gold stacking?

Australia to lose the $100 note

They're saying all existing notes will become invalid after 2 years (or potentially make them worth 10% less each year, until they're worth zero after a decade). Anyone know what the legal status of the pre-polymer Australian notes is? Are they still legal tender? +1 to this.

Australia to lose the $100 note

I'm sure many of you are already aware that Australian Banknotes will be getting a facelift in the next year or so, as part of the RBA's "Next Generation Banknote (NGB)" program. But yesterday in the RBAs NGB submission to the government, they propose to remove the $100 note, and potentially...
