Hi, When they are for sale at the shows they have them a little cheaper, this year the dragons were $172 at the show and if they ever got to the website they would have been $180, so you save a massive $8 plus parking $10 plus 1 day show entrance fee $10! Blake.

The thing to remember with coins from the PM is that "unavailable" does not mean sold out. PM do not mint 5000 of these coins in one hit as that doesn't allow any other coin to be minted. They mint them in dribs and drabs, more will be available shortly and probably will be for a few more...

Hi, I am a relative noob as well but if your stash is 75% of your savings I would have quite a few hiding spots (unless it is all going in a tool box in a safe......but even then!) and make sure that someone can't just walk into your house and take the whole tool box in one foul swoop. Blake.

Oh, okay, crazy kids at the Perth Mint! I imagine they will release a 2 ounce dragon at the Perth ANDA show?

By the looks of the link below there will be a 5 ounce dragon as well and the opal series is "set" at 2 coins, the wombat to follow. I think this list goes upto 2014 but who knows if the PM have to stick to this list or not...

Hi Pat, It may be worth ringing a few of the coin dealers, some of them may do it for nothing, others may charge you. There is a ANDA show in February here which coin dealers from all over Australia come to, you could hold off till then and take it to a few dealers at the show. Blake.

Hi, I think the jump in the price of the redback was a lot quicker than what has happened with this coin. The tiger should steadily increase in value as it is a coin that seems to be sought after and sells for a good price but it will never hit redback prices in my opinion. Blake.
