Bullion coins that a third-party has gilded, plated or slapped a paint job on. They seem to be breeding like rabbits at the moment.

I like them on Maples as other than privy marks there's little to distinguish them year to year, but mmissinglink is right that there are times the mark's been used to get around mintage limits. Anything aftermarket I'd avoid. Third-party modded bullion coins are out of control at the moment.

They confirmed to us it's a typo. Mintage is 1750. The 15,000 mintage for the minigold is pretty standard for them. I get the impression that the format is very popular in parts of Europe as CIT have issued over a hundred of them in the last decade. It seems to be a format getting more popular...

It probably will be. The Seven Summits is a nice idea, but some of the mountains are very prominent from their surroundings, such as the Eiger and the Carstenz Pyramid. It will be a great test of smartminting to see if it can pull them off.

Mintage for the skull is 1750. I did note that there was a difference in two pieces of marketing material and that's now been clarified to the lower number. I can't see where I say the skull is 5oz however. The Denali coin is.
