    Ethereum and "ultrasound" money

Bitcoin L2 solutions are going to make ethereum obsolete. Eth token can't compete with BTC on security or decentralization. Ethereum tried to do too much on L1, thinking if it could beat BTC there it would win. Reality is, Vitalik is a young kid with very little overall network architecture...

    Ethereum and "ultrasound" money

First of all, is it just me or does the word ultrasound conjure up different images than that of money? Money is either sound or it isn't. It's a true or false proposition. It's like saying something is "ultra-true". That's obviously way better than just plain true, right? Ethereum is the...

    Dogecoin

Well, it's bounced back up alongside BTC. I wonder if it will continue to climb with it and by how much. I still think that if you are not a trader you should steer clear of Doge, and alts in general.

El Salvador, Dollarisation, and Bitcoin — What to Expect From Here

No. But it gives them an opportunity to grow their economy using the new technology. As the economy grows, all these should decrease. It's risky to get in first, but with countries like El Salvador that aren't doing that well anyway, the risk is worth. I think it will pay off for them...

El Salvador, Dollarisation, and Bitcoin — What to Expect From Here

Same. I think it might take a while (or maybe not). I tend to think the El Salvador experiment will be watched for awhile, maybe a few years and if it proves to be successful, more will follow. If it doesn't then BTC might not succeed at all.

    Monitoring the Crypto Bubble

Wow. I wonder if that had anything to do with the El Salvador declaration. Timing fits perfectly. Sounds like someone is a bit insecure.... and considering how weak the USD is in comparison to BTC, it's not surprising. He's right about one thing though... BTC is going after the USD.

The US Will Not Ban Cryptocurrency

I gather this is the MMT story. The USD is not just the currency for America but it is the reserve currency of the world. There is much trade that happens in USD that does not involve America or American entities. This is unlike every other currency. A couple of decades ago the USD...

The US Will Not Ban Cryptocurrency

Here ya go Shiney. Petrodollar. https://www.investopedia.com/articles/forex/072915/how-petrodollars-affect-us-dollar.asp Basically. A country wants oil. First it has to buy US dollars (this creates a demand for USD and therefore, because supply/demand determines price, a floor to the...

The US Will Not Ban Cryptocurrency

But one of the huge drivers for demand for the USD is the fact that you needed it to buy oil. Now you have Russia starting to sell oil for Euros and other currencies. Also, you don't have the Chinese recycling dollars back into treasuries at anywhere near the same rate as early last decade...

    Monitoring the Crypto Bubble

It was way over-leveraged already and needed a big clean-out. Who knows what the actual trigger was or if there were multiple. If your thesis is correct, I want to see evidence for more than one event. An event which isn't that unusual in a Bitcoin bull market anyway, and Musk hasn't been...

    Monitoring the Crypto Bubble

He put Bitcoin on the Tesla balance sheet and the price went up. Then he, supposedly singlehandedly, caused the market to plunge, which by the way it recovered from almost straight away, so no big deal as long as you aren't leveraged. He manipulates DogeCoin but that was a market with a tiny...

    Monitoring the Crypto Bubble

I don't think he can control the market. After awhile people are just going to go "meh" and ignore him. It's even arguable whether he caused this plunge or not, but for argument's sake we'll give it to him. Let's see if he can repeat the performance before ascribing ultimate power to him.

    Dogecoin

I've seen some people suggest they provide liquidity for Bitcoin. My argument is that they are all just following the Bitcoin halving cycle. They don't have their own cycles. I'm a bitcoin maximalist. Bitcoin is the only one really worth having, but because the market is immature and...

Actually a 40% drop is quite normal for a Bitcoin bull market. As is a bunch of stupidity happening on the margins.

    Dogecoin

Bold Prediction: Because of Doge and Elon, this will be the last Shitcoin season. It's all too high profile now. Too many norms (and kids) will be hurt. This (Doge and Elon) will develop into a huge scandal that the mainstream public will read about. Lawsuits will be filed. The...
