Just curious because it seems that US coins in PCGS slabs tend or seem to get better returns than NGC? At least that is the consensus on US coin and bullion sites.

I find it a bit odd that the OP says the Perth Mint killed the dragon with overkill of items available. I think the people calling the suppliers, distributors and the Perth Mint carry just as much of the burden of blame for all the pre-hype they themselves created. Can you really blame them...

I'm sure they're trying to protect themselves, but they're also in no danger of purchasing at those prices. It's nothing personal, but to me nothing ventured equals nothing gained. (check out what they're selling those coins for, the ones they actually have)

Here is the thing that gets me about Apmex in all of this. I watched the presale of they and Gainesville on the bullion dragons except the 1oz. Apmex opened first and Gainesville followed the next day. The prices were the same and they both used a date of approx Sept 20, 2011 for delivery...

Apmex never ran out. The stock they've had for the last 4 months are from canceled orders on the preorders they had back in August 2011. Same with the 1/2 and 2oz. They had them all sold and because of delayed delivery they had a lot of people cancel, charged them restocking fees and then...

To be fair, they make a lot of numi stuff for themselves and also contract work for others. I'm amazed at the amount of different products they offer. The US mint pounds out 40 million Eagles, the ATB pucks, commems etc, but I'd guess it's about 1/10th of the offering Perth has considering all...
