sounds like an exaggeration by the writer. The BIS only said that gold can be safely converted to money. They didn’t say anything about a gold standard ... the writer made that bit up.

That’s right. When oil was cheep it wasn’t economical to drill for it in the oceans. Now that it is, we will have oil for a long time. If silver becomes more expensive then we’ll start minining it from underground in the oceans.

Don't take it personally, we've all been following this kind of work for years now and we're all cynical. As I said, I hope you're right but we've seen hundreds of rational reasons for why the price of silver SHOULD go up, and yet it hasn't. I will get up one day, but the reasoning behind that...

Welcome to the forum! If you're stacking bars, then this is overkill - its not worth the hassle because bars won't keep a premium when it comes time to sell it. If it's coins then it probably won't matter either as they have a nasty habit of developing milk spots, but to be on the safe side...
