    What do you suggest?

those are not silver, bro. just look at the side - it's a copper nickel sandwich. That's an indicator you can use to determine any silver change in US without looking at the date. Makes for much quicker searching. As for 1965-1970 40% halves. My local coin guy back in Texas can hardly give...

Has anyone tried paying for goods with silver?

My uncle back home pays my younger brother partly in notes and in silver coins/ounces. There's a family awareness about metals. Back in TX, I'm thinking of asking the coin dealer for whom I a lot of repair/renovation work to pay me 1 ounce of silver per hour as long as the price stays between...

Apart from that, there is a set of 1 kilo through 1 ounce (definitely 1992) for spot plus 10%. I just didn't have 2500 some odd dollars in my pocket! This is news as of yesterday (6...

Lunar Monkey 1/2 oz at ABC in Sydney

Maybe good to have a sacrificial coin for them to handle. Two reasons; so they are satisfied kinesthetically in handling a coin and so they can see what handling a coin does at the same time.

Well, I've tried to keep it respectful and informative. If it is not in your best interest to have this thread up, I won't be offended if you delete it. Also, one of the comments made by the staff included, "yeah a little silver polish will clean it right up" or something to that effect.

Lunar Monkey 1/2 oz at ABC in Sydney

So I walk into Aus. Bullion Co down in Sydney and ask to see their random selection of stuff they buy off customers. They had two 1/2 oz Monkeys for $26 per coin. One was not in the capsule so I decided I'd probably let that one go, and the other had a capsule in good condition. As the lady was...

early '90's single kooks and early 2000's koalas

I stopped by Roxbury's gold exchange place at 290 Boundary street in Brisbane and saw some single oz kooks koalas and some roo's for $42. I didn't pick any up (got a 2009 1/2 oz koala for $21 though). I know that's high for some stuff but I didn't know enough to decide whether that was good...

what's the worst metal purchase you made?

-A 10 ounce bar when silver was $46 - paid $470. -A roll of standing liberty quarters that were 10% under weight because of wear - luckily I made a $60 profit on these when I sold at $36 even though I sold them based on weight, not face value like the person from whom I purchased them.
