    1 oz 1988 Platinum Panda

my hands were clean. that was an ink stain that wouldn't come off, and I never touched the face although it looked like someone else had. It was in a plastic flip and i wanted to look at it with a loupe (and take photos of it.)

    1 oz 1988 Platinum Panda

What would be a fair market value for a raw 1988 1 oz Platinum panda? I've got the opportunity to buy one. It weighs out ok, diameter is good, and looks good under the loupe. My coin guy says there is a coin show coming up where we can get it verified.

    1986 $50 note

The note is still quite crisp for a circulated note, there are a couple creases and light folds near the corners, not in the middle. There are no stain or marks.

    1986 $50 note

Thank you Leafy Sea Dragon. Where might I see examples of condition? I know it's not UNC but I don't know how to grade otherwise. And how do you know what the year is? I thought the first 2 numbers were the year ... obviously wrong.

    1986 $50 note

Also, condition is pretty good. No rips or holes. I suspect 50 notes didn't get much circulation anyway.

    1986 $50 note

I'm trying to see what this might be worth. It belongs to a friend. All I've managed to figure out is that it's a 1986 ... I think. Serial number is YYZ 866918 Cheers

    Divisable Silver

Divisible tom-foolery is a bloody novelty. There's plenty of pre-decimal Aussie sterling. The florins are 1/3 oz. How convenient is that? '66 50's are a smidgen more than 1/3 oz. If you're going to turn something into scrap by breaking it up, might as well pay scrap prices to begin with...

When and how did YOU discover silver?? Share your stories!

Ah so that explains why only about 6 weeks ago you were baffled as to why someone would ask more for a 1991 1/2oz gold Panda than a 2012 1/2oz gold dragon that you saw online somwhere! Just teasing you, mate - all good. That's about what I bought as first purchase (30 oz of Engelhard...

Question: At what downside price for gold would make you puke?

Probably $1200/$20 Right now working on lowering dollar cost average for my stack(s) while maintaining same weight (+/- 30 oz). I'm still in the black but the spot price keeps chasing my DCA down! I hope it doesn't catch up. All this work when I could have just not bought above $40!
