    Silver price data fetch.

I'm making excel spreadsheet graph of silver/gold/gsr price. At first I was getting my prices from kitco, and had to manually enter the values. Really painful - http://www.kitco.com/scripts/hist_charts/yearly_graphs.plx Then I started to get the price out of perth mint -...

Were the 70's scarier than now?

well its hard to stay on topic i think because people who can shed some light on this matter are not many here. I would imagine those who rode the waves back in 70's lost all faith in gold/silver after that massive crash. Seriously, just imagine, you invest heaps of money into it, and then...

Were the 70's scarier than now?

When I think about what was happening back then, it seems much more of a doomsday than now. US defaulted on their gold debts, went off gold standard. Made all currencies in the world Fiat - not backed by anything but US dollar. Gold and silver started to spike up to fenomenal never in history...

[Question] Buying US debt (what is given to US)?

With just a couple of new laws it can all dissapear.

Can someone who was stacking back in 1978-9 shed some perspective? Did everyone just lose their money? Even if you had physical? Could you trade it for big bucks on black market? Did you think the situation back then was worse than it is now?

With just a couple of new laws it can all dissapear.

I have read a little on Hunt brothers. From what I understand the reason that the silver/gold crashed is because the 'government' (whoever it may be cftc, etc) introduced new laws. Mike Maloney's article on Hunt Brothers...
