    Out of control

It was a while back so I don'thave a link, but I read a study that women find men who use cash more attractive. It basically said when guys have cash it gives the impression they are more wealthy because you see the money instead of a what is or isn't in a bank account. This image of wealth...

    Would you buy gold now?

Agreed 100%. I don't really hide mine from her, she just doesn't show any interest in my "coin collection" and I don't volunteer information. Seems like a win win:)

    Would you buy gold now?

I say yes because I am buying gold right now :) I wouldn't feel good dropping a huge amount into a lot of ounces; I'd rather buy a bit at a time for price averaging but that's me.

Good Reminder for All of us stackers!!

I think that article illustrates some very serious problems with hoarding PMs at home and suggests some good reasons to keep your mouth shut about what you really have. Loose lips sink ships. And you would be surprised what people can find out about you on the web. It is a tool I use frequently...

    Austrian Ducat

Thanks for the reply guys! I got it from MCM on ebay. For the size it is one of the lowest premiums I've found except some gold pesos I've picked up for below spot (so no premium at all on those). The size makes it look more impressive than it really is but the effect works on me! The 4 ducats...

    Austrian Ducat

So I decided to pick up a re-strike 1915 Austrian ducat. It is an awesome little coin. It is slightly heavier than 1/10 oz and it is much larger looking. It is thin but but looks much larger. The premium is also pretty good on a small fractional coin. I paid about $14USD over spot. By contrast...

    Gold: bubble burst or correction?

Often times after I do a lot of research on a topic of interest I look at what the price of things are and I judge emtionally if I think they are a fair price or not. Nothing complex or scientific; I come to what I FEEL is a fair price. My heart of heart tells me silver is at a fair price...

Diamonds and silver - more similar than you may think

I think buying and selling diamonds requires a lot more specialized knowledge than silver. You need to know the four Cs and truly understand them. You also need to find a place that sells them at wholesale prices to make any profit. Buying a nice big certified diamond from a mall store is never...

My mini gold coin collection to date

Awesome coin! I hope you get it. This is another very nice gold pesos coin: http://www.gainesvillecoins.com/products/165600/1957-mexico-50-peso-gold-constitution-centennial.aspx Sorry on my phone so just posted a link to a company that sells them. Anyway love your collection. Keep us posted as...

My mini gold coin collection to date

20 pesos! Well played! The Aztec design is very nice. The Mexicans really know how to design a great coin. I'm sure you'll love it. Don't pass up the smaller coins either. Not as awesome as the 20 but still very nice. I've been lucky with the 2.5 pesos to get three of them all below spot! The 2...

    Where do I begin?

I agree with what has been posted above. Get a few items to try them out and then once you know what you like go for it. For me I've made a simpe spreadsheet of all of my purchases and then the average price per each item. My goal is to try to reduce that dollar amount as I buy going forward. It...

My mini gold coin collection to date

You might want to add a few Mexican pesos, too. Small gold and they can be had for a good price. Plus they look nice :)

What metal is better? Gold or Silver? Why buy gold? why buy silver?

I'm not sure people see gold as money any more than they see silver. Yeah silver was cut from US coins in the 1960's but gold was cut out 30 years earlier than that. When I was a kid in the 80's I would sometimes find silver coins in my change (I've found a few even in recent years although far...

    Gold below spot!

Wow I just won another ebay auction for a 2.5 pesos coin. Got it for $74.95 about a buck under spot! This one has a bezel that looks like it could be silver too. I think I am becoming a big fan of Mexican gold since I can seem to find it for below spot. Good times.

    Mexican Silver Experience

I can understand that. I like them but like I said I've only got about 20. I'm not sure I'd get many more unless I found them for a very good price. Anyway, Mexican silver and gold is pretty cool.

    Mexican Silver Experience

I like Mexican coins. I have about 20 10% silver pesos that I got at about spot. I also have some silver Libertads that are very nice. I've recently picked up some gold too. I have some dos pesos and 2.5 pesos that I was able to get around spot (the 2.5s below spot). My most recent gold is a...

    Coins or bars

Yeah must be location. I have a decent coin shop near me that deals with higher end rare stuff and they always have fair prices. I collect Knight of Malta coins and the shop sells them for a good price... sometimes even though the price is fair it doesn't mean I can afford it though lol. I'm...

    Coins or bars

You're in the US and can't find them cheaper? Wow. I think they might be more popular in FL, CA and TX. APMEX has the 2 pesos and 2.5 pesos on ebay for $76 and $90 respectively. They're tiny coins but I like them. The larger coins (5, 10, 20 and 50 pesos) are all very nice, too. Good luck.

    Coins or bars

$70 over melt?!? Wow not cool. I got two 2.5 peso coins for $75.50 USD each maybe a month ago. It was a couple bucks under melt at the time. Maybe it is location? If you are across the pond or down under the Mexican stuff might carry a high numi premium? Unrelated to pesos; I sometimes hate...
