Does this mean we might finally see some funds returned from Mt Gox?

    Monitoring the Crypto Bubble

Some mainstream coverage on 60 minutes focusing mainly on the scam coins (because they make better news): https://www.9news.com.au/national/2018/02/18/21/42/60-minutes-new-cryptocurrency-auscoin

    Monitoring the Crypto Bubble

I'm not sure of your definition of "all time low". Bitinfocharts shows more like a month and a half low. Still too high for my business to be able to use, although lightning network might help that. BCash just kicks the can of scaleability down the road a little. It hasn't been pressure tested yet.

    IOTA

Indeed. I recently discovered Google Timeline. It's both scary stalkerish and actually useful for trying to remember, "When did I go to ...?"

    Bitcoin fees Mempool chart

Yeah, I was helping a friend sell some bitcoin today and we did a transaction for $1.52. Heaps better than $20. But still too high for commercial use.

China looking to ban mining. Best POS crypto?

Anything graphene based: Bitshares, Steem, and at some stage EOS. Bitshares is starting to get a lot of actual businesses starting to or planning to use it.

    TenX (PAY)

I don't hold. Missed out on the tokens, but been waiting for a card for ages. I guess I'll have to wait longer.

WTB A real bitcoin gold coin is thre such a thing

I believe there were only two of those ever sold and one has been redeemed. I loaned the guy who bought one of them $1000 in BTC back in the day to buy a mining rig. I can't remember the interest rate on the loan, but I think he may have done better than me (although from different deals). I...

Found : The Crypto for mainstream adoption

So competing with Steem's 3-second block intervals by using chains with 10 min blocks (BCH) or 15 seconds and congested with kitties (ETH)? Doesn't sound like much of a threat yet.

    Monitoring the Crypto Bubble

The ATO is small fry in all of this. You should be more concerned with the IRS, and they have a different tax year. Returns are due there end of April IIRC. Still a good warning not to spend any more than you can afford to lose. I only allocated 2% of my total portfolio. Crypto now makes up...

    Bitcoin fees Mempool chart

I tried a fee of $2 a couple of weeks before Christmas. I got impatient around the 2 week mark and boosted it by spending the change with a higher fee of around $20.

Genesis Mining - A test case study

Same problem I had when I was decided whether to mine in 2011. Electricity costs here are too high. Profitability calculations relied on an assumption of increasing bitcoin price and steady-ish difficulty factor. If assuming an increasing bitcoin value, it was always better just to buy bitcoin...

Can the technology be switched over to a different/better platform down the track or are they married to ethereum?

    Monitoring the Crypto Bubble

bitcoin.com is also owned by Roger Ver, so by default a BCH shill. Great advertising ploy to get it taken up by the major news agencies, especially with its clickbait-y title.

    Lightning Network pipe dream

The lightning network sounds a bit like Ripple, but backed by bitcoin rather than debt, so requires less trust. Edit to add: I just read the date on that article. Two years since the article, so LN has been a long time coming.

    Dedicated POS machine

You could also look into a VPS at a data centre and let someone else worry about your uptime. You can get some low spec ones for $5/month.
