    ethereum

DAO tokens are trading at a discount compared to Ether... Probably pricing in the fact that the underlying Ether is locked for minimum 30 days plus some additional risk.

Bitcoin - Block Reward Halving (10 July 2016)

Well, the hash power of the network has suddenly dramatically increased. Very interesting times ahead.

Bitcoin - Block Reward Halving (10 July 2016)

Me too, most probably. Interesting how it's becoming very similar to gold, isn't it?

Bitcoin - Block Reward Halving (10 July 2016)

The thing is that the amount of BTC sold by the miners doesn't really matter much anymore. If you look at the volume exchanged every 10 minutes on major exchanges, 12.5 BTC more or less don't make any difference. And the price of BTC is made at the exchanges. On the other hand, many have...

Bitcoin - Block Reward Halving (10 July 2016)

The closer we are getting to the halving day, the more I'm convinced that there could be a major price drop. Am I the only one thinking this way?

    ethereum

Definitely. The best way to buy DAO token is with Ether and a lot of them are already in the DAO, enough to make the price swing.

Bitcoin - Block Reward Halving (10 July 2016)

Found it here: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bitcoin-price-cost-mining-production/ Not that I trust anybody.... But there you go. And sorry, I made a mistake. The estimated average production cost is apparently 247$.

Speaking of which... What do you hold? Now you can tell us. Only gold or 50% silver as per your analysis posted in the past? And in what form?

Bitcoin - Block Reward Halving (10 July 2016)

I read that the average cost to produce a bitcoin is now circa 275$ so many expect the market price to settle around 500$ after the halving.

Wow! That's quite the mission! Good luck with that, I'm a supporter.

    ethereum

Yep, I've chipped 200 Eth in just to be part of this experiment. So far it looks like it will be like to be part of an owners' association of a strata building with all the annoyances that it brings... But I tried anyway because I'm a sucker for new things.

Who's in charge Analysis and Strategy at Perth Mint ?

Based on the way he writes and responds to comments Keith seems to be a very likeable, easygoing, and smart person. I'm sure you two will get well together. Looking forward for more brilliant posts disguised as jokes.

It's not only about that... It's about arbitrage between the magical world and the muggles' world. And, most importantly, about this: Source:xkcd

I'm so glad that you left Perth Mint if you are now free to write posts like the Voldemort Effect. Thank you for that, I loved it!

What tax, import, duty fees do you pay when you import?

On bars, silver coins, and collectibles (stated price much higher than bullion price) you risk a 5% customs duty. There shouldn't be any difference between 2k and 10k, except that if it's silver the larger volume and weight will be more likely to attract the customs officers' attention, I guess.

    Bitcoin is Dead

I use http://www.currencyonline.com/ . They signed me up without too much fuss while others complained about an address mismatch on my utility bill. You have to go through first time KYC validation as with every financial institution, but once it's done every transfer is straightforward. Done...

    Bitcoin is Dead

Just use a forex company that exchanges money and completes the last leg of the transfer locally. This is what I do when buying from Perthbullion. No fees, and I also get a better exchange rate.
