    A days wage coin

A lot of the world still works for 1/10th of an ounce or a few dollars a day. Somehow at some point in the past the western world group of countries greatly increased the value of their currency artificially. How?

    A days wage coin

As I am sure you all know. We used to work for a single silver denarius for a hard days labour. Some say the denarius was 4.5 grams, some say 1/10th of an ounce of silver. Can we buy coins this size? If not would it be a good idea to start making them again?

    Calling all Manipulation Theorists

Government would be kept to a limited size if they were held to the spending of only gold/silver backed money. Their overly interfering and tyrannical ways could not have existed without the de-coupling of gold from currency. The people whom own the government, the bankers, created this dodgy...

Time for stackers to review the lessons of 2011.

I watch all these guys analyzing charts on you tube. They are missing the point. The world has abused the privilege of a paper promise, for gold or silver. A man's labour for a day was 1/10 th of an ounce of silver. The paper party is over, that is the only thing to see I believe. It's funny...

Time for stackers to review the lessons of 2011.

Silver is not going up. The value of paper money is falling. Silver is just a place to put your value before you lose more of it. There is so much abuse of currency that it will not have value returned to it.

This time its different. Silver to $40+

Thing is, paper is only good when there is trust. We have not lived in a time with no trust. So it is hard to envisage a future where trust goes away. Trust is like musical chairs, it is like the game musical chairs, when the music is playing, it is the music. And silver is the chair...

What type of silver bars/coins do Australians buy?

Hi Shaun, I buy whatever is cheapest. But dealers pay more in buy back for 1 kilo and smaller in Australia. So a fair number of 1 kilo bars, only bought 1 kilo coins recently because everyone has run out. Do not get into collectables.

    Gold/silver ratio

Apparently in the Roman empire a man's labour for one day earned him one silver denarius. 1/10th of an ounce of silver. So today in Australia you get about $200.00 AUD for a days work. So $2000.00 AUD per ounce of silver.
