FAKE Sovereigns! - Obvious Dubai Fakes!

I saw them at the airport, they were called "ginis". Took me a while to work out it was "guineas"

I heard from a Manufacturing Jeweller there are "Sovereign Coins" genuine gold coins made by the Commonwealth and "Jewellery Sovereigns" privately made which can be any weight and size so long as they are hallmarked, they MUST be stamped with the actual purity. Jewellery Sovereigns are just that, made specifically for mounting in Jewellery (Rings, Pendants etc.) Neither are "Fakes" Jewellers can make them just as easy with no hallmark, but if they did then they would be making "Fakes" Coin collectors all know all hallmarked ones are Repos "Jewellery Sovereigns" not really "Fakes" and they rather they get produced to meet Jewellery demand rather than damaging the genuine coins.
