#SOLD# Gold 1969 Moon Landing Medal (Spot)

Interesting, maybe it's another designer with the same initials. If this was German made in 1969 then it probably wouldn't be Hahne, who although was German moved to Australia in 1959.

#SOLD# Gold 1969 Moon Landing Medal (Spot)

It definitely looks like his initials and he was a long-term engraver at the Royal Australian Mint, his most famous design would be the Aboriginal elder from the $2 coin.

    Platinum Kangaroos in 2018

It looks like the Perth Mint Platinum Platypus is becoming extinct in 2017, to be replaced by a 1oz Platinum Kangaroo starting in 2018. Wording suggests the design is the same as the silver kangaroo, hopefully the premiums are more in line with their 1oz gold coins...

    Platinum

Interesting to see the Perth Mint sold 1,500 Platypus coins in one week, that was close to the total minted for all of 2014. Declared mintages for the Platypus are: 2011 - 30,000 2012 - 26,580 2013 - 2,000 2014 - 1,616 Will 2013 and 2014 coins fetch a premium in the future due to low mintages...

    Go palladium

It would take a mighty leap to break above the all time high, it was close to $1100 back in January 2001.

    Johnson Matthey Platinum 2012

I was wondering if they were going to mint another Year of the Dragon platinum bar!

Holy Expletives, Batman! The Price of Platinum is $1477

It would only take a small change in investor sentiment to drive PT crazy - annual net private investment demand for gold is around 30 million oz/year while total global production of platinum is only 6 million oz/year. I agree that in the long-term PT will move higher than AU but short-term...

The rarest $200 gold series :)

Put me down in the UNC club, I don't bother with the proofs and those bulky boxes! Plus the later UNCs have the lowest mintages. I'd love to know how many of each still exist in the original packaging, lots have been broken out and melted down over the years.

Bank Safe Deposit boxes - Brisbane - some latest prices and info.

Out of curiosity, were these SDBs accessible during the major floods last year or are they in parts of the city that would be cut off?

    platinum bars treasure....

I don't doubt that the Soviets could have had years of world production stockpiled at the time, what makes no sense is that anyone would have loaded a single ship with that much platinum while German U-boats were patrolling the eastern seaboard of America. Countries weren't taking any risks...

    Condensing Stack Varieties

I have to agree with this. The best time to buy something is when nobody else wants to buy it. And nobody seems to want to buy post-46 silver right now.

    platinum bars treasure....

I'd really like some verification of that amount, it seems a bit crazy. 71 tons is about 2 million oz, which is 1/3 of annual production today. 2 million ounces is about what was produced per year back in the late 1970s/early 1980s. So I'm supposed to believe that a single ship was carrying...

relation between AUD vs USD and CAD vs USD?

While they tend to move together as commodity currencies the AUD has been outperforming the CAD over the past few years. Besides the interest rate differential Australia's economy is closely tied to China while Canada is very much reliant on trade with the US. If China has a big slowdown expect...
