What is the story with the 2017 platypus? Did it get released? I never saw it here in the US. Did I just miss it?

silvermark gets to the meat of the problem. the coins are on sale before they are produced. If you don't have the product you shouldn't advertise that you do. i love the coins though. we live in the internet world where we see something and we order it and we expect it to be shipped that day.

AFter getting the coin back from NGC, it was out of the packaging I could measure it. The dimensions of that fake panda were: 31.4 grams 40 mm in diameter 3.77 mm thick Not sure what they are supposed to be but a SAE is 40 mm wide and 3mm thick so I am assuming they kept everything good...

The coin was sent in for grading and it came back "not genuine" so you folks were correct. :-( Thought I'd give you an update.

It does have a diagonal slant on the bottom edge (see the first picture) There are no black spots of death, just the flash from the camera In the US, pandas don't have the following that they do elsewhere , and you can often find them similiarly priced to Kooks and Lunars reguardless of year.

So this is the coin my friend bought. I thought it was real but you guys seem to be the experts. Any thoughts? Value if they wanted to sell it?

Is there a good online resource for spotting fake pandas?

My friend bought a 2000 Mirror panda last week for $45 at the coin shop. It's real, not fake. I thought it was a nice score.
