Rhythmdoctor, without *your* participation, AND... the participation of everyone else who posted in here, this thread would amount to nothing.
So if you wanna know *who* helped put wood on the fire to keep it burning, have a look in the mirror.
And would have been a lesson well learned, albeit an expensive one.
Its one thing to overpay for non-fungible stuff, but fungible, well... that's a key point about precious metals, that they are fungible. Its stock standard stuff, whereever you go. I'm not about to start PM'ing every 10th...
This is the most exciting thread I have posted in ages. My JP Morgan "thug car" ones are also very enjoyable. :D
Sit tight folks, I need to pop out for a short time to get some garlic bread. :)
True. And thank you.
Overpriced bullion is sold regularly, unlike silver nuggets/wire, etc. If you start down the PM warning thread on stuff that is sold everyday, well, that's quite a different matter.
EDIT: And silver wire/nuggets are not fungible. Bullion is fungible.
Sorry, its probably just me being overly-sensitive.
If I can buy a 1kg PAMP (for eg.) online *now*, and 15 minutes later (and the spot price has NOT moved), two fellas here do a deal where one of them sells a 1kg PAMP (easily available elsewhere) for $200 over the online price, then these two...
That would be too confronting. Everyone would immediately be able to identity the parties involved, and that's not fair. Other than saying nothing, and not helping folks to be introspective and self-critiqueing, I'm not sure how you can help people to analyse their own buying habits.
Its not so harsh as to be hard sarcasm. But for my part, I wish that stackers could learn how to buy wisely. As I said, the common man off the street who knows NOTHING about precious metals, can buy for a better price than these guys. I'd like to help change this, what about you?
I'd like to...
I'm always aware of spot price. Spot + premium is standard fare. All I say is that I could buy from a dealer, online, then & there (only a few days ago), for $500 less. If it was 15kg that was moved at these prices, profit would have been in the 1000s.
Yes, it was unfunkable. He sold two of...
Talking bullion here, not numismatics. Not sure about everyone, but some folk can instantly fair spot market price, so its not as if they need to spend an inordinate amount of time checking this stuff.
Saw something in the sales forum a few days ago, and then checked to see how much I could buy...
there is both an objective & a subjective component to this. the skinny looking sheep up the top was leaping for joy when he left the sheds, thinking it was the best thing that ever happened to him, shaking his head happily making baa'ing noises. the fat woolley sheep didn't say a thing, but all...
