Wow....you have just been elevated to the exclusive club of owners of a rare MS70 large size Chinese silver medal.....very few MS70's in these large size medals around.

    Congrats!

Don't sell it for less than USD $8,000! :)

Incredible medal! I can't decide which side I like more....both are exquisitely designed, sculpted, and pressed under extreme pressure into pure silver!

What's not to love about the Xi-Shi Holding A Pearl medal?

    Maybe it's a cultural thing?

I don't have any silver coins "mixed" with pearls, other metal (like gold or copper), crystal or watever else. I just don't fancy it.

Cultural? Hmmm, probably not. It's a Chinese designed medal and yet Asians, Europeans, Americans, and probably some Aussies have bought the Xi-Shi Holding a Pearl because we all like it.

I particularly like the mixed materials for collector coins / medals. It's not that I don't like plain silver, just that I don't dislike silver when embellished with precious stones. It all depends on the design and application, in my view.

The pearl works well in this particular design in my opinion.

Wow...this is exciting news! I hope it's true. Fans of the Xi-Shi medal have been hoping for a continuation of this exquisitely designed and sculpted Four Beauties medal series. Please update us as you get new info, please.

I'm starting to stack my pennies in anticipation.

I am jealous of your amazing collection of Chinese medals. You should create some YouTube videos of some of your Chinese medals to show people out there how incredible Chinese medals are and to help inspire them to start to collect some of these medals.

The sponsor is reportedly waiting to make sure there is enough collector interest in continuation of the series but it seems likely the medals will be produced next year (2017).

I hope it continues with depictions embodied in the 2012 medal but introduces enough variation in design to make it unique.

I wonder what their gauge is...where are they looking to see if there's enough interest?

If they check here, certainly they can see that there is Chinese medal collector interest and enthusiasm. I'd be in for more than 1 depending on the quality and design.

I am sure they check this forum but they probably already know that there is awareness of this medal and interest.

We'll see what happens next year!

The sponsor has no cashflow at this moment. He does not read and write English at all lol.
