Would you put copper rounds in capsules?

    Is it worthwhile putting copper rounds in capsules? Or is it better to leave them exposed so they tone over time?

    Being that the capsule is worth more than the copper I would say no.

    I doubt any of the copper rounds I have would appreciate much if at all. I'm talking about copper SBSS stuff (Slave Queen and a few other types), various copper Zombucks and other random copper rounds. Some are already in capsules.

    I'm not looking to protect any miniscule value copper rounds might have. I'm just thinking if its worth trying to protect them from the effects of time, or would it be worth letting them gradually darken.

    if you want to get spot for them, don't think it really matters?

    They seem to tone just as well inside the capsules, not that I have a statistically relevant number of coppers in capsules to be meaningful.

    They dull down pretty quickly.

    The only reason I have any in capsules is because I only have a few, I already had the capsules, they are part of a collection with some silver coins in capsules, copper picks up fingerprints very easily.

    For toning? I have heard cardboard is also good for that.

    I took them out of capsules and used the capsules to sell silver 1oz coins in so I don't have the capsules any more.. Safe loves me for it freeing up the space.. Copper is not worth holding as too valueless youd need tons to make any money .. Mine are all going for what I paid when I have more free listings on ebay to get rid of them.. I was into them in my first yr of stacking before I got gold or a decent stack of silver but upgraded to greener pastures

    Capsules are worth more than the standard copper bullion if you buy them off chimp

    I do put high value antique copper in 2x2cardboard protectors but am also ceasing to accumulate these looking to focus instead on gold and silver antique coins.. Primarily as I can't collect it all and after a while it all gets too much and I need to consider where my stack will be in 5 or 20 years .. Even selling off my prime copper (including best known specimens like below:)

    That signals to me I will need to curtail silver also and concentrate on golf (I mean gold stocks gems crypto)

    It all depends on the round.

    I have blob copper rounds (common, cheaply made, no mintage limit) that I store in the 100 round plastic tube it shipped in.

    On the other hand, I have collector copper rounds that I treat like semi-numi coins such as the one's below and they stay in individual coin capsules:

    Using provident as a guide QTY 1-19 cash price $1.69 USD
    20-99 $1.49 USD
    1000+ $0.99 USD < Still x5 the spot price lol.
    Copper is a BASE metal, not a precious metal.

    Missing the point. Numismatics are not bullion.
    For copper bullion people are paying 8x spot!!!
