Hey 25Grizzles, could you post a link to andrewchan, can't seem to find him on ebay - always on the look out for good panda suppliers.
Just type "eBay andrewchan" into Google, he sells coin notes and mostly zodiac coins/pandas. Even perth mint lunars, but not cheap !
What's new ??? Well on my end of the world I have been working diligently to complete gold panda sets in which my method seems to be sort of unsystematically moving in a positive direction. In process right now at various stages of completion are 2010 MS70's, 2009 MS69's, 2006 MS69's, 2000 (frosted) MS69's, 1999 (large Date No Serif) MS69's & 1995 (small date) MS69's It has really been fun and hopefully after Christmas Wifey & Tinky will have dropped a few more in my Christmas stocking as basically my entire Christmas "wish list" is graded pandas Oh and another thing is I was curious how the members felt about their new 2011 graded pandas in the "new panda label"? The dealer I bought them from is now selling them at $54 and ships to Australia. He even has a "newer" Panda label with the Wall of China on it ! I know the labels add no value to the coin but it is the first time ever I have seen one specific coin minted that had such a variety of labels so it adds a bit of novelty to the collection if anything. He even has new labels for the dragons Oh and I just recently noticed I had a number next to my name for "feedback" I greatly appreciate the kind comments from all how do I respond to those comments and leave reciprocating feedback to those people? Thanks ! comeaux
Very cool label. Collecting is about a lot more than just monetary value IMO. Btw, I bet Tinky is inconsolable following a loss to the previously winless Rams. poor lil guy, just remind 'em y'all still got Brees and lots & lots of cool pandas
Yes Goldpelican I think about this many times when people (including myself) say things like "oh that coin isn't worth much because there is XX amount of them minted" or "it isn't popular" or things like that. Collecting is really what makes the person buying and collecting their specific "things" happy to have it. That is what counts the most and if it is valuable then that is a bonus. That is why I rarely (if ever) sell any of my coins because I love them all and they are a "collection" Many do not realize or consider that there is a big difference in "collecting" and "investing" but we can do both. I am much more of a collector than investor. When my son inherits my collection 20 years (if I live that long ) from now I would hope he would also be a collector and not turn into immediate investor and liquidate what took me years to build.
How to leave feedback: To leave feedback, find the person/account name in a thread, just next to ''trades'' then click on the + / - and the rest should be straightforward... Question: btw, If I were looking to buy 1 coin only. Which one is better for investment purposes, out of the following three: 2004, 2005 , 2006 ?
The following is not investment advice, just my point of view which may be incorrect. The 2005 is the cheapest of the three, the demand doesn't seem to be there, they can still be easily obtained in the wild for ~100. The other two seem to have higher demand and scarcer supply, pushing prices up between 120-150. The 2004 has the evil evil "4" in it. Thus I'd pick the 2006
It's an interesting topic you bring up though the superstition aspect of Chinese markets. Would desirabilty for a coin if it had the required rarity, eye appeal (great design) and price etc be compromised by such a thing as a number??
Perth meet up with Yennus today was great. Traded some of my proofs for some pandas. Got myself a nice 2001 and 2 x 2010s. There weren't too many of us there but I think there was some serious bamboo flying around. Once question I have - I am seriously considering getting the 2001 I got graded. Has anyone from Australia done this and how would I go about it?

I like the 2004 but I would have to agree with fishball on the 2006 if you are looking to get more profit for your dollars spent. I'm currently on a 2006 buying spree and have a few graded 2006's arriving Monday.
